It loses, loses HARD.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

We'll see -- I expect that it will win -- as long as the voters listen to the TRUTH and don't fall for the lies spread by the NNTP/nayboobs.

And when it does go down in defeat, and yes, it WILL - you'll have a convenient scapegoat to "blame"

Had an interesting conversation with some folks who live by the fire house. They are absolutely against this $3.5 proposal. They said that they already did and expansion. These folks said that the fire house, except for the water issue, is sufficient for it's needs. The water issue has been know forever and there are many ways to resolve the issue without spending $3.5M. (this is their words not mine)  They said that the general mind thought is that they will vote it down.

Again their words...........rotterdam doesn't need a 2nd taj mahal!!

The plan is NOT a Taj Mahal -- it is a prudent addition that includes a new, larger "barn" to house up to 4 pieces of firefighting equipment (the existing "barn" will house the rescue equipment) and space to bring the offices/communications equipment/utilities including the back up generator up ABOVE flood level  and handicapped bathrooms with shower facilities that are needed to decontaminate fire fighters after putting out a fire.

The current building is NOT sufficient for the district's needs.   The district has twice as many residential units in it compared to 1970 when the building was built --- and because the district has much presently undeveloped land (including parts of Guilderland and Princetown) that are poised to be developed -- the number of homes will only increase in coming years.     The number of commercial buildings in the fire district is also growing -- and many of these new buildings are either built with or utilize materials that are considered hazardous materials ...  thus increasing the need for the larger specialized firefighting apparatus and decontamination showers.

The residents need to attend the information meeting and GET INFORMED .. don't depend on the uninformed statements and outright lies being told by the NNTP crowd.

Trust me.........these are NOT LIES! And these are NOT my particular words or thoughts!  This is what the TAXPAYERS in that district are saying............k?

They remembered that there was already an expansion done that was suppose to resolve all the proposed problems and DIDN'T!

The taxpayers are clearly smarter and more realistic than some give them credit for. They recognize that they are in a deep recession. That their taxes are going to go up. That prices are rising. That businesses are closing. That there are no jobs to speak of. That they are in the worst housing market since the great depression. That they have lost most of their retirement! That they live in a country that makes/manufactures NOTHING!!

the taxpayer's know and recognize the reality of the economic environment and will act accordingly.

Mertzie, the taxpayers were certainly smart and realistic when they kicked your butt of the Town Board.  I believe they will be equally smart and realistic when they VOTE YES ON THE DISTRICT #5 REFERENDUM.

Senders, ask DV a question. If District 5 attacks District 4 from the rear, will GREECE help?

Again...I'm not mertzie, but I will take that as a compliment.

However....the truth of the matter is....again.............The taxpayers are clearly smarter and more realistic than some give them credit for. They recognize that they are in a deep recession. That their taxes are going to go up. That prices are rising. That businesses are closing. That there are no jobs to speak of. That they are in the worst housing market since the great depression. the taxpayer's know and recognize the reality of the economic environment and will act accordingly.

And this is the problem with the democons....THEY ARE OUT OF TOUCH AND DON'T LISTEN TO THE TAXPAYERS!!!

Does this department already own equipment that doesn't fit in the building - or will there be another $ layout for new equipment coming down the pike?

If they already own it, where is it now parked?

have the balls to attend the information meeting -- and ask the questions to the district's leaders yourself

you might even inform yourself for a change
