Are you such an ignormaus that you don't see that the economy is tough and people do NOT have the moneyt for these things?

Oh folks like minded, aka democons, don't see it. And they never never will no matter how much truth is placed in front of them. As long as they continue to ignore the cries from the taxpayers, they will loose votes on 'everything'.

'we the people' have much more power than anyone in an elected position! VOTE THEM OUT!!! simple!

Obviously, you have never seen or met me.  I volunteer my time to a number of different causes and can be proud of my record of accomplishments.

so why did they throw you out .. if you were good?

First, he has NO record of accomplishment. There must be a trust fund somewhere. Second, people that give alms and volunteer don't brag of it lest they be seen by their neighbor slipping alms into the cup of the poor...

The project will not be any less expensive if delayed --- the modifications to the existing station are necessary to meet state and federal standards  ---  the money spent on the proposal would be an INVESTMENT in our public safety paying dividends for many years  .................  so apparently ignoramuses like MC and GB do not understand that  -- they are the typical  NNTPer/nayboob/teapartier    -----  they don't know how to solve problems .. so they just say no like a spoiled little child.

Actually, it is more like a responsible parent saying "NO!" to an unruly child who thinks he must have EVERYTHING that is the latest and the greatest because "all the other parents" give in and pay for all of that stuff for their kids..

It will be less expensive for those that have to pay for it!!!  How do you measure the safety dividends versus "investment"?  How many houses burned down or lives lost in district 5 directly due to the lack of equipment?

Fire prevention starts in the home.  Can anybody living in District 5 tell me the last time they received a mailer with fire prevention tips?  You know the typical reminders - check your smoke and carbon dioxide alarm batteries, clean your chimney, clean your dryer vents, how to develop a home evacuation plan etc... What do they do PRO-ACTIVELY to prevent fires?  I know the fire station lawn is nicely manicured and the engines are waxed.

Fire protection in New York State is complex, with many options. Fire protection may be provided directly by a municipality, arranged under contract with a municipality, or provided by an independently governed fire district. Fire departments may have all-paid or “career” members, all-volunteer, or a combination of paid employees and volunteer members. Firefighters may work for a municipal fire department, be appointed as fire department members by fire district commissioners, or be members of a not-for-profit fire corporation.
This brief provides an overview of the fire protection options available in New York State, and answers some common questions about fire protection.

since you say you are not a town resident nor a resident of the fire district -- no one cares what you think on the issue

the folks that I have talked to in that area are saying NO! So the fire district better come up with a plan 'b'!

How about.........SUMP PUMPS????

There are many many many rotterdam residents who's homes flood out all the time. They don't rebuild. They make previsions...like a French Drain or perhaps more than one sump pump. How about a small make shift levee? Rain gutters? Dug trenches to divert the water.....Non of which would cost anywhere near $3.5M!!!!!

It is particularly nasty of you to make rude comments about my late father -- but that is the best we can expect from pond scum like you.
