What a bargain because the bathrooms are not handicap for the crippled firemen they employ!

Now let me ask you all a question- WHOSE HOUSE IS UP TO CODE? How far apart are your stair rails and how about your wiring. You ARE AWARE that codes change each year? NONE OF YOUR HOUSES ARE UP TO CODE. DO THEY ALL NEED TO BE REBUILT AND TORN DOWN AND REPLACED WITH SOMETHING THAT COST TWICE AS MUCH? YOU LIVE WITH IT!!!!

try to get back to your home after being in a rehab facility....they check out your home.....and so does the code enforcer(supposed to).....no code no home discharge except AMA....
AMA = no services......

this has nothing to do with the fire house but 'vee hav vays of making you comply'........then they say"GIVE ME YOUR MONEY AND WE'LL GIVE YOU LIFE".......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Now the lying nayboobs are claiming that the fire house is not up to code --- that is untrue.  The building may not be up to state and federal standards for a public safety building --- but the building IS up to code.

The last few posts just emphasize how UNINFORMED the critics and nayboobs are.

Oh, GREAT! Then they don't need to do any of this. As your buddy, Jimmy Constantine said "THANK YOUUUUUUU!"

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Everyone knew that it didn't HAVE to have this expansion. It is the usual....'the sky is falling' rhetoric!!

Not needed and will be voted down.

there is a DIFFERENCE between "up to code"  and "up to required standards"  -- the nayboobs (Rhinesmith, GB/Suhrada, Bumblethru/Mertz, MT, MC, et al)  don't know the difference ....   but then again they don't know the difference between their a** and a hole in a ground

You would have thought that the district would have been keeping up with 'required standards' with the tax money they've been collecting.  How did they fall so far behind 'required standards'?

District #5 has been very prudent with spending tax dollars.   They have not asked for a bond referendum in 40 years (and I am not sure they took out bonds when they built the current station in 1970) ..
the answer to your question is quite obvious ...   the building was built in 1970 to the standards in place in 1970  ..   31 years have passed and standards for public safety buildings have changed  (especially since 9-11).

And - don't forget - this proposed expansion includes only what is actually needed to bring the facility up to standards  -- there is no "fluff" or "extras".

VOTE  YES ON THE DISTRICT #5  REFERENDUM

How long has the district been operating out of 'required standard'?  Has there been any lives or property lost during that period as a reesult?

My retirement account is not up to 'required standard'.  Time to cut services and lower my taxes, people cannot afford to continue to throw money down these rat holes.

"required standard" - who's requirements?

There's a difference between "we'd like to have" and "essential to saving lives" in this, or any economy.

ONLY A BOOB LIKE YOU JOHN MERTZ --- DOESN'T CARE ENOUGH ABOUT CHILDREN THAT HE WOULD PUT LIVES ON THE LINE AND SAY "NO" TO THIS COMMON SENSE PROPOSAL!

But with Hitler-loving racists and hater like the NNN people --- Joe Suhrada, Carolina Lazzari (wicked witch) and McGarry behind you --- the town is in danger and that calls for extreme measures --- don't be surprised that the people rise up and put you into the custody of the First Responders where you will end up in stocks with rotten vegetables smeared on your mugs..............

Apparently, you are dumber than a rock because I have repeatedly said which standards.  It is obvious that you are NOT a reasonable person ..  there is no reason for me to waste my time answering your questions here or anywhere else.

Yep - apparently ... cause I see NO explanation on why these upgrades are "mandatory" nor any proof that without them lives will be put in jeopardy.  Now's not the time for this proposal. Come back in 3 years and try again.

Rumor has it, Dist 2 will be looking for an upgrade/expansion referendum next year.

aw comon ronnie - you can make that bigger - bolder - maybe add color ... keep saying it, maybe in your world it'll come true, but the taxpayers have had enough - but then again, you wouldn't know that, would you?
