In the long run, more Americans are interested in why President Obama is hiding his Attorney General behind the cloak of executive privilege.   Governor Romney's actions/inactions in regard to Bain Capital did not leave a Federal law enforcement agent dead and hundreds (maybe thousands) of guns in the hands of Mexican drug lords --- but Fast & Furious did and the Attorney General and the President need to hand over the documents and answer the questions being asked.

Furthermore, those Representatives who walked out on the contempt vote need to be held accountable for going AWOL on such an important vote.   At least be professional enough and have the guts enough to cast your vote on issue.

Personally, I applaud the following: Democrats voting for the resolution were Reps. Jason Altmire (Pa.), John Barrow (Ga.), Dan Boren (Okla.), Leonard Boswell (Iowa), Ben Chandler (Ky.), Mark Critz (Pa.), Joe Donnelly (Ind.), Kathy Hochul (N.Y.), Ron Kind (Wis.), Larry Kissell (N.C.), Jim Matheson (Utah), Mike McIntyre (N.C.), Bill Owens (N.Y.), Collin Peterson (Minn.), Nick Rahall (W.Va.), Mike Ross (Ark.) and Tim Walz (Minn.).

The Hidden Mitt Romney

"The presumptive GOP nominee is known for his abilities as a salesman. But Romney has made a calculation
against selling three major elements of his background to voters. To some degree, the Republican's
campaign has walled off three critical aspects of what makes Mitt Mitt -- his Mormon faith and good
deeds, details of his experience running Bain Capital and his signature achievement as Massachusetts
governor."

"The result: a kind of self-imposed paralysis on biographical messaging that some observers, including
Republicans, say may wound his campaign in an era in which voters want to achieve a kind of
unprecedented intimacy with their candidates. Right at the moment voters are starting to get to
know him, he isn't telling them his story."

Why George W. Bush is skipping the GOP convention:
Three theories...
1. Bush is doing Romney a favor
2. Bush is giving Jeb a chance to shine
3. There's no hidden agenda: Bush is just tired of politics

I really think its #3...although 1&2 are resultant because of #3
Carter stays in the public limelight because he really wants to help...he was a terrible president, but would have been a great leader of the Peace Corps. Clinton does it because he has a huge ego and is very concerned about his legacy.

Bush, on the other hand, could really care less. i think he was disinterested with a lot of what the Presidency entails and frankly was glad to leave DC when his term was over. i think he is just enjoying life as he has means to.

Politics aside, I think that GWB was in over his head as president.  I tend to agree... he's had enough and
wants out of the whole scene.

The Party of the Rich
are investing in their next 'tax cut for the rich' by backing Romney & the Republicans.

Million Dollar Donors are Half of GOP Super PAC Funding
"About four dozen donors and families have given at least $1 million to super PACs this election cycle,
with three-quarters of them giving to the GOP.
Combined, these four dozen donors have provided $130 million of the $308 million super PACs have raised
this cycle (more than 40 percent) -- a reflection of how much these outside groups are funded by extremely
wealthy donors."

"And that goes double on the GOP side, where nearly half of the $228 million raised by super PACs has
come from about three dozen million-dollar donors."

If you think George W. Bush was "over his head" in the presidency than Mr. Obama (as judged by his performance in office) is as far below the surface as Deep Water Horizon's wells were in the Gulf of Mexico.   Personally, I think George W. Bush was a good president (voted for him in both 2000 and 2004) and eventually history will show that he did a good job as president.

As for why George W. Bush has chosen not to attend the convention -- the thing about him and his father is that neither has to be the "rock star" ... the center of attention ... like the current occupant of the White House has to be.  That - among other things - is what makes him (and his father before him) a class act and a gentleman.

barack INSANE obama may just throw this election under the advice of his dem party. this country is headed off the cliff. There will be not only a deeper recession, but also inflation during the next administration. the dems don't want that on their report card.

At least obama can leave office by saying he finally passed national healthcare! His economic disaster will fall at the feet of the reps if they should win in november. the next 4 years will be economically historic....no matter who is elected!!

imho

Well, I happen to think that George W. Bush was the much better choice for President ---  To vote for Al Gore, who lied and deceived throughout his political career and continues to do it in his private life to continue to line his pockets, would have been inexcusable and John Kerry was just another in a long line of opportunist limousine liberals willing to whore themselves to the extreme  Neo-Liberals in order to get elected to the US Senate Country Club.

You forget the economic disaster goes back 8 years prior to that. Therefore, why do people keep voting for the same characters, rep and dem. If you think electing Romney will help the economy in any way shape or form as opposed to Obama, your delusional. Bush sucked, Obama sucks, and Romney will suck.

Americans don't like honest politicians.  They like being lied to, so every 4 years they can scream and yell about how they were lied to while somebody else defends the lies.  Then they support a new known liar to replace the old one....and the cycle repeats.
