I'd be surprised if the developer moves forward with this site at this point.

Understood, MT, but also remember that Donald Zee is the lawyer for CVS.  Just happens to be the Rotterdam Democrat Party lawyer also.  Could have some effect tomorrow night.

wouldn't that be a conflict of interest...

probably need to get residents to squash this as they did for the WalMart construction

on Burdeck St....few years back...

And, environmentally, tractor trailor trucks emit fumes ....and all the truck traffic would

have an effect eventually on the quality of life.....

In Rotterdam politics, there's no such thing as a conflict of interests.  I think that how the planning board set things up tonight, it would be difficult for the actual TB to go and give them the go-ahead.  Well, all of the PC except for Boy Blunder who voted to allow CVS to go forward.

Want a conflict of interests?  At the beginning, the head of the PC stated that he had relatives who worked for CVS, and even HE saw that this plan was wrong.  Too bad Ronnie walked in knowing how he was going to vote and didn't listen to a single person who spoke... except maybe Donny Z.

Don't know how much they'll have on, or when, but Channel 10 was there tonight, will have something on during the 11:00 news.

When a kid gets hurt in that vacant building - be sure to complain to the town, not the property owner.

The town should begin action to have that building demolished at owners pay the $$$.

So RHONDA voted "FOR" the CVS when all others voted NO....really?

Wait .. the developer ASKED to take down the building ... and replace it, the town said no.

Ya, Queen Ronda went against everyone else on the commission - go figure, but in this case, he did the right thing, IMHO.

But if they built at 4 corners, doesn't that just leave another vacant building at 5 corners....tax base remains the same.

Not quite - bigger foot print means bigger tax base. this was a much larger property. They're leaving 5 corners anyway - now where are they gonna go - maybe INTO the city?

I think if they leave 5 corners they wil stil look to stay in Rotterdam or else they would have already looked to move elsewhere. Maybe with the cleanup of Curry plaza they might consider going there...that would be a good move for all!

They can't go there.  Anything that would be any type of competition for the previous owner of the Curry Road Shopping Plaza can't move in.  The former owner?  The wonderful Golub Corporation.  I did think, though, there's a nice piece of land at the corner of Curry and Hamburg for sale, the old service station.  What about going there?
