Public Safety is NOT a luxury --- even though the Tea-Partiers/Republicans seem to think it is.

Palatial headquarters are a luxury and not necessary to carry on the business of Public safety!!!

The Pine Grove expansion proposal is certainly NOT palatial -- once again the  NNTP/Tea-Partiers/Republicans prove that they are seriously uninformed on local issues.

Just maybe the people who voted no on the bond referendum feel that their taxes are already too high for what little they get in return and don't want to keep throwing more money down the rat hole.

Public Safety is NOT a luxury

"Public Safety" just like paying your "fair share" are just more rhetorical buzz words that have no measurement.  There are NEVER enough police, NEVER enough firefighters, and NEVER enough paramedics.  There are never enough public safety workers.  And the taxpayers always has to compensate those tasked with "public safety" much better then themselves.  You know, in order to attract "qualified" people for these jobs.

Scare, scare, scare, pay, pay, pay....

No one is going to change your mind -- even though you are completely wrong on the issue.  You refused to listen to the FACTS from the beginning ---------------   having a bay big enough to hold the new, larger fire trucks is NOT a luxury ...  having decontamination showers so firefighters can rid themselves of hazardous contaminants before they go go home is NOT a luxury ........... having  command and communications facilities ABOVE the floodline are NOT a luxury.

ok.....WHY do we need a new fire truck? is the present fleet BROKEN? OF COURSE NOT.....the reason they get put up for vote is so the commishes can 'feel out' the soft spots to sell firetrucks to
so the company that makes them can 'feed' the pensions....when was the last time you purchased a fire truck for yourself?  it's just like textbooks and the teachers union/pension bed.....

same sh!t different fruit.....get it?

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Actually, the district does need a new truck -- one of the trucks is over 25 years old and the new version of the same truck is too long and too high to fit inside the current bay ---- THAT is one of the reasons that this expansion is necessary.

Of course, the Fire Department and I have only been saying this for 2 months and the Nayboob/Tea-Partiers/NNTP/town Republicans  REFUSE to comprehend or understand the FACTS OF THE SITUATION.

Quite honestly, the whole bunch of you from   McGarry and Mertz and Tomaselli and Surhada and Farley at the local level to the Bachmann, Palin and the bunch at the Federal level  are just too radical and too ideologically stubborn to allow for ANY RATIONAL THINKING --- thatis why you folks aren't trusted with holding local office and why -- you won't be trusted to hold state and national office either.

It is one thing to be a conservative like Goldwater and Reagan it is another to just be a close-minded a**hole like the current breed of GOP/Tea-Party politicians.

People can't afford it. Won't don't you get? They voted against it. Use the old truck. Just maintain it. It will work. Shiny new toys are not in order currently, dunce.

The strong central government model that we've had in place in America over the past 50 years is falling apart.  Though the bureaucrats in Rotterdam won with minority, a majority opposed what they stand for, the residents we just unable to coalesce around one candidate.  The electorate is NOT satisfied with the failure of government on ALL levels and the mess they created.  The radicals are the lifelong bureaucrats and two party establishments, and their failed policies.  The experiment is over, the citizens are waking up they just aren't organized yet.  And the Democrats and Republicans are doing all they can to keep them from organizing.

If you put any municipal budget up for a direct democratic vote, the majority of them would be shot down.  Buffadi is going to be facing a sh*t storm when presenting the 2013 budget.  My prediction is, there will be NEW FEE'S.

Firefighting apparatus is NOT a shiny toy ---  It is obvious that the NNTP/townGOP/tea-partiers have absolutely NO CONCERN FOR PUBLIC SAFETY.

Thank God Joe Surhada and John Mertz  were defeated 2 years.   Thank God that Brian McGarry and Tomaselli and Villano were defeated this year.    Electing anyone of them or anyone who shares their loathing for public safety would endanger ALL of the residents of the town.

Public safety is a whole other issue....

don't get me started on that....

District 6 has a palace compared to what it was......voting there is a nightmare....fire trucks still in their bays

and cramped space for voters and machines.....wouldn't it be logical to park these red trucks outside in the

parking lot???  I don't see this as a problem......

As far as this new fire station goes.....maintain it and do cosmetic changes....make do, as we all are doing.

Ahhh..."Public Safety".  What does that mean again?  Oh yeah...It means whatever those who make their livelihood working in public safety TELL YOU IT IS!!  If you don't pay us more, if you don't buy us more toys, if you don't let us do what we want to do and question how police conduct themselve(shooting people), then you have no concern for public safety.  You know what; people in public safety have no concern for the residents’ private personal finances.  The residents are just an ATM machine in their view.

PAY PAY PAY.  TAKE TAKE TAKE.
