Absolutely...he stopped repairing vehicles there about 8 months ago or so...he still has a junk truck on the lot that's been there at least 5 years.
I heard he found a legitimate garage somewhere in town. Still, it went unchecked for at least 15 years..I believe it was actually longer than that, but that's as long as I can confirm myself.

What ever happened to that town owned land (road/right of way) that he has cars on?

The cars were on a side lot that belongs to the dwelling...still it was strictly  r-1 zoning ..I have the maps to prove it.

So then the problem ended when the new administration took office - but nothing was done by the
GOP administations that ran the town for 8 of the 15 years you refer to.

What was the issue - I clearly remember SOMETHING being on top of that "road" .. it being buried by a bunch of trash or cars or something ... *insert senior moment* .. it was several years ago

No, the problem ended slightly before that, so don't give credit to FDG. If you want give them credit, then you have to give them blame for the junk truck that is still there...clearly in violation of the junk car ordinance.

But that's not the point.
The point is the selective enforcement and the buddy-ism of whoever is a pal of the administration in place.
The dems and pubs are BOTH guilty of this... for as long as I can remember

Probably something different.. this issue existed on a side street... a very short one.

Call the Town Supervisor's office - so that he can get someone to take care of the truck.

LOL - here's a sample of that conversation:

55TBird: I'd like to complain about a junk truck parked on a property in violation of town ordinance.

FDG: We've got lots of junk trucks, we can't do anything about it, there's lots of them all over town.

(secret call to his buddy ensues to remove the truck)

You can't blame the administration if you haven't contacted them with the problem,
and if he did call his buddy & his buddy moved the truck ---  the problem is solved -- so what you
bitchin about ?

We Got A Dirt Track Date

You know, if a person has a rollercoaster in their backyard, it really doesn't matter if you call their house and amusement park or not. The rollercoaster still makes noise.

The Rotterdam Town Board needs to realize that they should be focusing less on the legal definition for racetrack and more on the fact that their constituents-once mad as hell about the noise coming from the (we don't really know if it constitutes a) racetrack-are mad as hell that the board has done nothing to address their concerns.

Rotterdam town code defines a racetrack as "any ground, area or track upon which races, contestants or demonstrators of skill or stunts are conducted for the enjoyment or entertainment of the public or for the gratification of the contestants who use go-carts, stock cars, motor scooters, midget autos, motorcycles, motor vehicles or any other vehicle that is propelled by more than human power."

Deputy Supervisor Robert Godlewski says the town building inspector interprets the code and that he feels the property in question, at Maple Street and Wedgwood Heights, isn't a racetrack.

We've got an easier way to identify a racetrack, on that leaves little room for interpretation, and we encourage the Rotterdam Town Board to adopt it as code:

If we can send a photographer there (as we did with the aforementioned property in May), and he is able to get a picture of a a man wearing a racing suite launching his dirt bike 8 feet into the air off a jump while performing stunts and giving said photographer a "thumbs up,", it's a racetrack.

For clarification, the thumbs up would be ancillary to the other conditions.

We agree with resident Phillip Hurst that it shouldn't take the board eight months to come to a conclusion on the matter, and we surely do not agree with implication made by Town Supervisor Frank DelGallo that the code regarding the track is too broad to enforce, and shouldn't be enforced in this instance because it would apply to other properties in town.

Frank, enforce the code in every instance. That is what you were elected to do.

During the board's next agenda meeting on Monday, Sept. 20, at 5p.m. members will review video evidence of the track and make a decision on regarding the situation.

   Show up.
   Make some noise.
   We suggest "Vrrooom."

It used to be you would call 355-7331
place your complaint - based on items in the town code
police would pay a visit
verify the issue
issue a summons(ticket)
and you went to town court

the town code is a list of town laws
and police officers enforce laws

I live near 890. When is the great wall of Rotterdam going up. I see where Masullo got their wet basements fixed on my dime. How can I stop the train and trucks from shaking me out of my slumber?  Any suggestions?

I have a neighbor who is near deaf. Can I have the code enforcement man cite him for a loud TV?

Get my point peeps?
