I must say that watching the sunrise over the Mississippi with the Memphis skyline in the background was quite an experience.

Hopefully on a future trip, I will have more time to experience Memphis.  I would particularly like to visit the Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis,  the Martin Luther King museum and, of course, sample some Memphis BBQ.

And anyone who knows Blues or Memphis .. would know that the proper spelling is B-E-A-L-E Street.

It is nice to hear you not bash, trash and burn businesses out of your own local community. They must agree with your political ideology...eh?

Yeah, you might be right about that, Beal, Beale? I didn't have to "look it up" on Google to know about the place like you, but visited three times. But who is as perfect as you?

you can see where I went to school ? so please forgive my spelling - you must have gone down the alley behind the Peabody which is the entrance to the ( world renown )Rendezvous rib joint ( i think the Stones ate there in the 60's ) or maybe head down the street to the Rum Boogie Cafe ?

Seems like a music AFICIONADO like you might even have taken a drive down Hwy 61 to Clarksdale ( hwy 49 ) otherwise known as the "crossroads" ya THE crossroad- maybe check out the Delta Blues Museum

Some people are woefully uneducated as to the geography and cultural delights of our great land.

Now, who likes a lightly salted rub on their beef, and if you use dipping sauce--do you prefer red or a mustard based condiment? I can say with all confidence that Memphis BBQ has a distinct edge over the delicacies from the Eastern part of Tennessee. However I will take the down-home style of music found in the hills any day over the Delta Blues... It is based in great part upon the ancient Scottish music of the Highlands.

The choice of "adult beverages" to serve at an eatery is also very important.

Of course, the place would need a wide range of beers and wines.  When it comes to wine, the first priority would be serving New York wines but I would also have a representation of wines from across the United States.  It is amazing how many states now produce wine --- I was very impressed with wines that I tasted from Texas and from Tennessee.

When it comes to mixed drinks and "hard liquor" ---  my preferences are  scotch with just a couple drops of water, martinis with vodka NOT gin and absolutely none of these other flavorings  and - newly acquired likings - for good Kentucky bourbon and good tequila ... straight up.

Sweet local honey -- drizzled on fresh baked cornbread muffins is an ideal dessert! Too bad certain people -- whose names will not be mentioned -- bake their cornbread with far too much sugar...

There is such a variety of "down home" cooking from all of the various regions of America --- I couldn't limit my restaurants offering's to just BBQ.

I would definitely have to serve my rendition of Gumbo ... and, of course, some dishes with "mudbugs" or crawfish/crayfish.
