Tina still live over there? She's the one responsible for getting the speed HUMPS put in (what a disaster) - maybe she can call up her friends to get the drainage and pothole situation fixed.

She doesn't live on Argo.  She's divorced I believe.  She lives somewhere in Coldbrook though.

I wouldn't want to be the owner of the cabs paying the repair bills, something's got to happen if repeated not slowing down going over those humps

For anybody that wants to hear ANY good news about Hamburg Street, I might have just a little bit for you.  On the agenda last night was a resolution that was very vague, but by hearing about it, the fact is the town is applying for a grant for some sidewalks.

Quoted Text
Resolution No. 117.08.  The Supervisor is hereby aithorized to execute a Grant Application to the NYS Department of Transportation under the Safe Routes to Schools (SRTS) program.

Now, while the resolution says just about nothing about what it actually is, Supervisor Tommasone made a statement during the "question period" on this resolution.  He stated that for Bradt School, if there was any emergency during the day where the school needed to be evacuated, the location to evacuate the children and faculty to is the Senior Citizen Center.

The grant that they will be applying for is to put in / improve the sidewalk along Hamburg St. between Bradt School and the Senior Citizens center.

I'll tell you what, the Sons of Italy is going to town...take a look at the stone work on the front of the building...looking real good. There is a consignment shop next to Main Auto, the sign looks like someone drew it with crayon...dont we have rules about these things..

Where is there a consignment shop on Hamburg Street. I must pass it and never knew it was there. I guess their 'crayon sign' isn't very effective if they are looking for customers.

And how many 'next to new' stores do we need in Rotterdam. Are we all that bad off and no one is telling us? We have the one in Hannaford Plaza, the teen one at Rotterdam mall and now one on Hamburg Street? So I guess if we want something a bit more upscale we need to shop OUT OF ROTTERDAM!!

Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil,
The Light at the End of the Tunnel has been turned off.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

Rotterdam is 'next to new'.....in some places......and according to the re-val complaints everyone wants it to be valued at 1.00...just like the dollar stores.....

Almost a year ago there was great interest and drive to get something going to improve and find interest in development on Hamburg street....Did the meetings end ? Are the politicians still listening...or has this been forgotten...

As far as I can see,,,Hamburg St and the east end of Rotterdam is the mudhole over which a tug of war rope is being pulled by the City and the County on one end and the Rotterdam Board on the other end.......well,,,,,I see none of them ready to tow the line........Mr.Stratton doesn't see a 'problem' in the Duane Ave area---hhhmmm,,,where does he live?? How about Mont Pleasant....anyone see that black SUV rolling around---are they vigilantes or just some street thugs....hey, maybe the Feds are in town cleaning up for us........

dissident

Gee, let's form a committee to study the problem and after a while the residents will forget all about what they wanted in the first place.
