Why ? Because we let backward thinking nayboobs (like those named above) stall and stop any progress in our town.   The time has come to ignore the nayboobs and PUSH FORWARD  ------  that will lead to lower taxes, continued vital services and programs  and a great place to live for everyone.

Wrong...Try again.  Rotterdam hasn't moved forward and expanded our infrastructure because the first responders(unionized police) and the school districts(unionized teachers) have sucked up most of the town homeowner resources to pay for salaries, pensions, and health insurance for unionized public employees.  Our tax money goes in people's pockets. Rotterdam politicians are far to greedy and short sighted to invest into the town when so many are screaming for the money to go in their pockets.  Rotterdam is a what have you done for me lately town.

Oh, but the democraps have many willing and ready preferred developers and contractors who want a little taste of what the democraps control. Gotta' pay them back for the campaign cash donated they use to swindle the public with!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

They will try to push through a police temple, and sell a net tax liability as economic development.  It will be contracted to BBL or Highbridge Development or Galesi(whoever promises to be more generous next election cycle) then they will sub contract to the local union brick layers and steam fitters. That one project could pay back multiple democrat contributors and Conservative Party leaders.

Wherever you go in this Town.....you see

Homes for sale, bars and no "hiring" signs, drugstores, the same, apartment bldg...."Now Renting'.

resturants, not hiring.....pizza parlors galore, not hiring, etc.,businesses going under,

The new REGIME will do no better.....they will not sacrifice to save this Town...and more and more residents

will be leaving....In the end, the ones left here will be the ones that destroyed this Town with their greed

and personal agenda.....then they can have it ....lock stock and barrel....worth notta...

People will realize a little too late that is past election was a HUGE mistake.

The only foolish ones -- are folks like MikeChristine who live their lives with their heads up their backsides and who are eternally opposed to any progress.   If nayboobs the nayboobs actually took the time to visit other parts of the state and country --- they would see that many communities that are SMALLER than Rotterdam have public sewer systems and other infrastructure -- and as a result they have  commercial retail and office developments which have expanded the property tax base and because of the taxes these developments pay the HOMEOWNERS PAY LESS TAXES without having to cut vital services.

All the nayboobs can do is lie (like insinuating that I don't pay taxes .. because I do) or make personal insults - all of which proves that they are not intelligent enough and mature enough to carry on an adult discussion of issues.

Rotterdam needs public sewers and in-ground infrastructure ... it should have been installed 10, 20 or even 30 years ago .... but since we can't change the past  let's re-unite to solve the problem NOW and have a brighter future.

Not opposed to progress, rather opposed to TAXPAYER FUNDED PRIVATE BUSINESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!    We do NOT want socialism in this country.

And total BS that you pay taxes.....you have not job so you don't pay income or SS taxes, you are NOT a homeonwer so you do NOT pay property & school taxes.   Your persistently incorrect statements, e.g., your not making a distinction between tax levy, tax rate and tax bill prove you have NEVER NEVER NEVER owned property and paid those taxes because if you owned property you would speak accurately.

And as far as intelligent conversation, well, explain why homeowners who can't afford to pay their property and school taxes end up losing their homes, but when the businesses can't pay to operate, the taxpayers are supposed to come to the rescue.....even when, in doing so, the taxpayers lose their homes.

Is it proper that homeowners should lose their homes in order to keep businesses in business??????    Would Jesus support taking money from the poor to give to the millioniares?????    WHY do YOU REFUSE to answer that question, huh?

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

It would NOT cost the taxpayers a penny to actually update the Comp Plan --- the town has been "sitting" on this for about 11 years now --- it is just a matter of having the political will to take on the issue ... rewrite the zoning language, update the Comp Plan and Zoning map   (BTW -- the portion of the new Comp Plan as it regards Parks & Recreation has been sitting on Frank DelGallo and Bob Godlewski's desk  for 18 months  -- I suppose if we had attached the Town Parks Plan to FDG's Tax Settlement or the Tax Settlement of one of his buddies --- DelGallo and Godlewski would have pushed it through for a vote in record time) ---

You said Infrastructure.

Investing in infrastructure such as desperately needed sewers and the addition to a fire house do cost money --

How can it be that a registered sex offender (check the registry) can work at the Rotterdam Square Mall?

Oh? Is it going to write itself?  The lawyers are donating their time?

Please - tell us how a plan of this magnitude can possibly be written without costing us one penny.

If you read carefully --- spell out the words if you have to in order to comprehend --- I said that BOTH need to be done  ... #1) complete the update of the Comp plan with new zoning map and zoning language,   #2) develop a plan for installing public sewers and in-ground infrastructure along Hamburg St,, Curry Rd, Duanesburg Rd and Burdeck St  ...  and #3) meet with key players -- the owners of RSM and other large commercial developments to discuss their future plans and needs.

And -- if you actually read and comprehend what I am saying .. you will see that it would cost nothing to do #1 - Update the Comp Plan  ... and cost nothing to do #3  ---- and you need to do #2 - Develop the plan so that the town can apply for Federal and State grants to help pay for the sewers and other infrastructure improvements.
