Musical chairs in politics
Marv Cermak

Rotterdam politics has been a free-for-all in recent years and reports are the current cast of characters is not going to break tradition.

Most of the infighting in preparation for the fall election involves Democrats in office. Word has it Democrats are dumping Supervisor Francis DelGallo, a Conservative who was cross-endorsed by the Dems.
According to the scenario coming my way, Democrats will be supporting town Councilman Wayne Calder for supervisor in November. Well, DelGallo isn't sitting still for the snub. There is word that DelGallo is courting Republicans in hopes of landing an endorsement to run for a Schenectady County Legislature seat.
Besides Calder, reports indicate fellow Town Board member Niki DiLeva is seeking Republican support to run for supervisor. The supervisor race gets further jammed up because Brian McGarry, the No New Taxes Party candidate, is planning a run.
DiLeva has been all over the board politically. Years ago, she was a Republican member of the Schenectady County Legislature. She left the GOP to enroll as a Democrat. Later, she enrolled as a Conservative.
She won her Town Board seat as a Conservative cross-endorsed by Dems. If DiLeva obtains GOP support for supervisor, she will have come full circle. She's touched most all the political bases, sometimes twice..................>>>>.........................>>>>................Read more: http://www.timesunion.com/defa.....94.php#ixzz1E1myrGDL

del gallo for anything, only an ID10T would support that

we dont have better in our area

the boy can't read not mention comprehend - just review the notes from town board meetings in the last 6 months

the only reason the parties need soooooo much cash for a town or county race is they trying to make SH!T taste like Filet Mignon

at least the parties realize voters are not "dogs"

WTF! This has got to be a trial balloon. A blank slate would be preferable, Just what we need at the County Funny farm another RINO that supports Metrograft, a new County home at any price and higher taxes.

What is still confusing is WHY did FDG change his party affiliation from con to dem if they were not going to endorse him? It is obvious that the cons and dems are in lock step politically, but now with ND(con) and WC(dem) in the mix it will be a watch and see for sure.

I hear FDG's "advisers" are so clueless they thought he could change to Dem and be a Dem instantly in order to primary on the dem line...not the case!

It shouldn't matter. The cons and dems cross endorsed him last time.

Who wouldn't LOVE to see FDG at a County meeting?  He could bring the Vaudeville act to County Legislature Chamber.  It would be AWSOME!

Are you actually trying to figure out what FDG does as if there is some logic to his thinking?

Oh I think FDG does have logical thinking. It's just that no one knows or understands what it is.

FDG would be running against TJ Hooker & Assemblyman Angelo. Who's on first? The picking can't be this horrible. Then they wonder why the turnout is so low. And Spidey has it right they are so delusional they think you switch parties and immediately run in a DEM primary.

You don't know whether to laugh or cry. Hopefully someone in the REP camp can pop this trial balloon. And the one about town jerk. We have enough buffoons in the County Legislature.

Is there ANYONE willing to run for county as a republican? I doubt there is. That is the sad part.

Wanna solve the problem? Desolve the county leg and form a board of supervisors.
