Because of the environmentally sensitive nature of the 140 acres proposed for Bicentenniel Park ..
I would strongly urge that anything man-made which is added to the site be environmentally
friendly  ...  one of the other things I saw at Gifford Pinchot's Greytowers in Milford, PA was the
use of  porous paving materials on the roadways, walk ways, and parking areas.   This allows
water to naturally soak in  (say after a rain fall) rather than just run off the surface.

this year.

Yeah, another white elephant that will cost 500K a year to operate.

How can you predict how much it will cost to operate when you don't even know what the
plan for the park is?

And as far as it being a "white elephant" - it would only be a "white elephant" if it were unused ..
and we are hoping to get a lot of public input to make sure that the park has what residents want
so that they will use it.

Last Spring the ballfields at Woestina Park were rebuilt along with improvements to the
club house and parking area ---  at no cost to the taxpayers

The goal of the Parks Commission is to minimize the cost to the taxpayers for any of the
proposed parks and recreation improvements -- I expect that that Bicentenniel Park can be built
thorugh private and public grants at no cost to the taxpayer

Do you think NOW is the the time to expand and BUILD A NEW park when you have an underutilized park at Woestina?

A new park and more taxpayer monet being spent won't change the economic situation here, and you know that is true.

It got great use by the Challenger League during their season and I undersand that the people
in the junction are very happy to be able to use the fields, too.
