I am not campaigning for anything -- yet.  Maybe in 2013.

There are 2 more public sessions to be held .. the steering committee will be meeting again next month ..
and the folks from the consulting firm are doing other parts of the study (marketing analysis, etc) as
we speak.
I would imagine that the bulk of the study will be done by sometime early next year.
Once the BOA study is complete -- there is already about $200,000 attached to this study .. to begin
design work and start implementing recommendations.
PLUS -- the most important element -- once the study is done .. private property owners and
commercial property owners within the study area will become eligible for grants to improve their
properties ....  the town will be eligible and put in the front of  the line for federal, state, and private
grants to implement recommendations.
For example, much was said about the need to control traffic speed, install sidewalks, and to have a
safe corridor for bikes to ride along Route 5S  --- if that becomes one of the recommendations ... the
town could use part of the initial BOA grant money to do the design work  and then apply for all the
applicable grants -- to pay for the implementation of that recommendation.

Don't listen to the naysayers --- this study will produce results.

just wonder...anyone on this blog that lives in the Junction...how old are you what do you do and what do you think about what should happen down there...

We don't live there, but have some friends and family that do. Actually, they kinda liked moving 'out there'. Although they say their taxes are unrealistically too high!

WHAT IS THE VALUE FOR OUR TAXES......I have yet to hear a leader tell me all about that 'value'.......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

what we just paid for then why bother paying at all.......

do you just randomly purchase things without thinking about the value of what you just paid for?????

I was trying to understand your comment relative to the issue of revitalizing Rotterdam Junction.
Speaking for myself, I have not incurred a cost to the taxpayers of Rotterdam.    When it comes to the
Parks Commission, I run off all the materials at home -- although yesterday I did have to use the town
copier machine to run off 11 copies of one item due to a "technical difficulty" with my copier at home.

The other members of the Parks Commission volunteer their time ... between the meetings, doing
research, and being directly involved in clean-up days and other activities.

So I would say that The Parks Commission has given great value to the town.

More in 1 year than the Regressives and Nattering Nayboobs of Negativity have done in a lifetime of
whining and complaining.

People in rotterdam felt 'safe' and 'secure' that the metroplex would stay out of their town preventing them from doing to rotterdam what they have done to the city....RUINED IT!

The people of rotterdam don't feel so safe and secure anymore.............in fact they feel violated by the liberal socialists.

Guns at the Maple pine apts, gins mills rising and more relocations (exchanging one empty store front for another), zoning changes for the selected few....sound familiar rotterdamians?

Be careful what you wish for rotterdam jct people!

I guess one's perspective depends on the way one looks at things ...  unlike the Regressives who stick
their heads in the ground ..   I prefer to stand on my two feet and look FORWARD.   From that
perspective,  Metroplex is making a difference ... Schenectady is moving forward  and Rotterdam is
beginning to enjoy that forward momentum.

While one illegal gun incident is one too many -- the fact is that Rotterdam Police Department
apprehended the criminals and  our great DA - Bob Carney will prosecute them and put them away.
That is why I feel secure --- between Rotterdam's awesome police department,  the wonderful work
done by Sheriff Dagostino and all of his department, and the tremendous job that Bob Garney and his
team does ---  I can feel safe and remain optimistic for the future.
