All indications point to a HUGE tidal wave of discontent with the current 5-0 Republican Admin.  Stan the Man losing. The NNTP factor.  The large amount of money raised by the Dems.  The smell of the appointment of Craig Surprise.  The stink around town on Gerry Parisi's ill-advised "Sesame Street" blunder.  The Mertz factor. The same tired Republican candidates that have run for office over the last 10-15 years.  The way they have handled Eunice and the former assessor.  The wave of Democrats winning statewide in Republican strongholds.

Yeah I'd say their days are numbered.

BT ~ this is what I was talking about.  I believe the Republicans will keep the majority, but it's Ego's days that are limited.  It will also be interesting to see if JS and MDV will be able to convince O'Connor to keep Parisi around ~ that I doubt.

Once the GOP throws Howdy Doody and Parisi out, they can begin to rebuild and get back on track.  Howdy and Gerry made a huge mistake going after DelGallo like that, sucker punching a guy before the big fight was stupid ~ talk about unfit to serve.  At the end of the day ~ these guys get their marching orders from Tommasone ~ so I don't think people are buying this attack as just from Gerry.

GB ~ Did I really hear you call that woman a fascist last night?

Also ~ can someone else comment further on Signore refusing to debate?  Did his opponent attack him just days prior to the debate?

GB--What's with the maifesto???  Righteous indignation you say????  Boo  hoo.  Folks stood up against unfair and demeaning practices that your buddies foster.  Leave the LWV alone.  No problem there.

Benny--the Dems have all the answers that the Reps can't come up with.

Reps are not united--ST's days are numbered.  And I remember when Signore wouldn't debate Constantino.  Was harder to know who the bigger horses-ss was in that race.

Parisi is at the bottom of the problem.  As a famous rabbi once said, "even a cat can spoil something."  But not our Puddy Cat!  He's got it right.

Reps do not have answers and the ONLY answers the Dems have are to give give give...after taking taking taking....
however it's all from the storehouse of government collected taxes, whether it be commercial/residential/fees.....

AGAIN-----it's the levy and each party clings to the next paper rung of the ladder and neither party has the
balls big enough or the spine straight enough to diagonose and treat.....it's all about the bandaides........

tell me again the answers from either party-----WITHOUT THE BLAME GAME of course-----if P then Q please......

NNTP for me......

actually right now Mr. Paterson looks really good to me.......and is willing to 'put himself' out there for the sheeple
to see what the problem is......lets see if we really did justice to the next generation and if they are willing to take
their medicine and 'start over'........no more Chicago/New York/New Orleans gumba gangsta politics......
cut off the teet and the leeches will leave......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

What happened to Michael O'Connor was a disgrace and a shock to all fair minded voters. He should suffer because Ms. DiLeva was absent? What's wrong with the LWV?

And what's wrong with the REPS? First these stunad attacks on Eunice who will be re-elected in a landslide. Then calling a lol a facist? She was not the decision maker. Look to Scary Gary for answers. This does not look good. The big winners last night-Mike O'Connor and Brad Littlefield.

Again, I'm voting for mcgarry, but as an outsider looking in, s.t. and the reps are not out of the running by any stretch of the imagination.IMHO

BT ~ hate to break it to you ~ polls don't look so good.  I know ~ I know ~ polls don't vote.

Candidates have already assumed their roles ~ s.t. the bully, fdg playing the lead, b.m. the alternative.

GB ~ as for McGarry not showing up ~ looks like more damage was done to his opponent by NOT showing up.  As for getting his message out ~ he might not have all the $$$ that Tommasone and DelGallo has ~ but he's getting his message out every night on the doors.

Thanks for the kind words but it's less about what the candidates suffered as a result of the rule changes.  (And all the candidates that showed and were affected by the last minute rule change indeed suffered.)  But the big loser was the voter.  They didn't get to ask their questions.  They didn't get to hear answers to their questions on the important issues facing us as a community.  Those that rely on watching the tape instead also were treated with little regard by SACC's sudden inability to film it.    While I can appreciate the LWV's  difficult position in determining the best way to proceed without certain candidates, they made an extremely poor choice.  They overthought it, in my opinion.  The LWV should simply have stuck to the original intended format.  The whole event intended to inform voters about the issues so they can make informed voting decisions turned into quite the opposite.  THAT is the real travesty.  The democratic process took a humiliating kick in the crotch last night for certain.

LWV---should be ashamed.....and deeply......to stand apart as independent women voters should be their goal....not to 'feed' some
dumb a@@ ponies for a race.....I certainly hope they dont think it's a forward movement for women.......

FDG still ahead of the pack. BM moving up smartly on the outside. ST had the stage to himself last night to plead his case.

Does he have anything left? Watch out for a barrage of late hit piece mailers. The Rotterdam Way.

Michael ~ the only people hurt in this exercise was the local GOP ~ that's because they are lazy and depend on these forums to answer the questions of the electorate.  You and your NNTP brethren are not hurt because you are out at the doors every night.  The voters ask you questions face to face and you have been getting your message out.  Same thing for the Dems ~ they're out every night too ~ taking it to the people.

These forums are designed to benefit the professional politicians ~ because the real public servants take it to their doorstep.  Besides ~ the prepared statements (for example Viscusi) make it look disingenuous.  Yes ~ Mary did a good job, but she's still too environmental for the average voter who cares more about issues impacting their life.

Myself and others don't see it that the gop was hurt. Actually some see it as just the opposite. Most see it as the lwv's making poor choices on behalf of their supporters. Also, because some dems did attend, made the ones that didn't show up look disingenuous. Especially since mr. cook was in attendance.

Even though I am of course voting for mcgarry, there are some that felt he should have been there as opposed to joining a 'boycott'. Credit was and is given to all of the candidates who did choose to attend. I commend them all.
