NEWSFLASH: {TU} 8/31/09- "A person would be prosecuted for unlawfully dealing with a child, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail," Carney said, "if it's proven provided alcohol to minors." So much for Gardiner's spin?

"I have no proof, I have no pictures. As a school board president, it was my duty to call him and alert him to the alert. I trust the {Casino's} were using good judgment at the party." Stated Maxine Brisport. LOL! Hey Maxine check this site out. Color pictures!! Casino and judgement should not be used in the same sentence. Have they resigned yet?

Wasting away again in Casinoville! It doesn't get any better than this!

Police search for photos of board member allegedly drinking with teens
DA looking into whether Schenectady official had alcohol at son's graduation party

By LAUREN STANFORTH, Staff writer
Last updated: 1:56 p.m., Monday, August 31, 2009

SCHENECTADY -- The police will attempt to find photos that allegedly show a city school board member drinking alcohol among teens at his son's graduation party, Schenectady County District Attorney Robert M. Carney said today.

Carney said he spoke with Police Chief Mark Chaires, and detectives will search for Facebook pictures Daily Gazette columnist Carl Strock says he downloaded that show board member James Casino drinking shots of liquor with his son, Jimmy, who in June graduated from Schenectady High School.

Another picture allegedly shows Casino's wife, a school teacher, doing a keg stand, according to the column, which was published Sunday.

The newspaper did not publish the photos. It provided Internet links, which when visited said the pages were not available. The columnist reported the photographs were on a Facebook page maintained by one of Casino's relatives.

Schenectady police Sgt. Eric Clifford said the police will ask the newspaper for the photos, or they'll try to locate them on the Internet. .......................>>>>..........................>>>>.....................>>>>...........................................http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=836815

Their really big mistake was placing all of those photos on facebook. Just when you think you've heard everything in schenectady. Anyone keeping notes for that great NON FICTION novel?

I was made aware that a female teacher in the district was recently denied tenure due to a morals clause or morality clause by the Schenectady School Board.  Their reason was they observed her attending happy hours at local bars.

From what I understand she has not been able to get another teaching job since, due to the fact that she was denied tenure in this district.

If Mrs. Casino does not lose her job for the same reasons, we have some nepotistic, unlawful things happening this district right in front of our eyes.

Someone needs to lose there job.. even if there were NO underage drinking at the party, this is a HORRIBLE example to the kids who go to that high school.

Not the influence i want over my kids... get rid of them, get rid of them now.

Now that's a sensible statement. I would agree.  A "keg stand" by a teacher destroys her moral authority in the classroom.  She is now a liability to the district.

Unlawfully dealing with a minor - wouldn't that suggest that those in the picture were under the age of 18?  At 18 you're legally an adult. I get so confused with these laws.  County attorney says one thing; DA says another, both from the same political party.  Is it spin or incompetence?

Nepotism at the Schenectady Schools? lol.

Try naming a bored member or administrator that doen't have a spouse, a gomare, a boyfriend on the payroll. Very difficult. This goes to the very heart of the problem. When it's done for decades you see the scope of the problem or why someone like The Mad Bomber{TM} could pry his trade for decades. And nobody {especially Linda Bellick} knew from nuthin.

It doesn't get any better than this!!

Well....you can look at it this way......a kid actually graduated from SHS!!!!! Now that is worth celebrating, huh? (tic)

Seriously...isn't there a teacher out there that can shed some light on this? What would a teacher's view be on this?

The teachers are too afraid to speak out. At the School Bored meetings they are huddled together as a cheering section for Jiffy Jeffy and horrible Linda Bellick. Pathetic.

Anyone who dares speak the truth is subject to a freeze out. Everyone must stay on message; "All is well. There is no gang problem -there is no violence problem- the school bored is concerned with our kids". When you get a teacher alone away from the monitors there is a far different message. The unvarnished truth.

They can clearly post here under an alias freely. And I'd like to hear from teachers from other districts. Let's get their take on this too.

Board member’s party photos sought
DA says is looking into possible criminal charges

Tuesday, September 1, 2009
By Michael Goot (Contact)
Gazette Reporter

SCHENECTADY — Police are investigating whether a crime was committed after photos of a graduation party hosted by school board member James Casino — in which alcohol was displayed — were posted on Facebook.
Authorities are trying to track down the photos, which have since been removed from the social networking site. They showed a graduation party and a going-away party for Casino’s son Jimmy, who graduated from Schenectady High School in June. There were at least three people at the parties who had graduated in June.
Among the photos are some showing young people drinking a substance as it flows through a channel carved into a block of ice.
The second party featured Jimmy’s mother, Donna Casino, a sixth-grade teacher at Hamilton Elementary School, and some young people doing keg stands. That is, being held aloft over a beer keg.
Schenectady County District Attorney Robert Carney said he spoke with Police Chief Mark Chaires and asked him to assign somebody to the case.
Police spokesman Sgt. Eric Clifford confirmed that the case has been assigned to the detective division but had no further comment.
Carney said he has not seen the photos themselves but only read Gazette columnist Carl Strock’s description of them in a Sunday column. It is difficult for him to say whether a crime occurred, he said.

Editorial: Hangover in 'Casinoville'
Tuesday, September 1, 2009

Whatever the members of the Casino family of Schenectady were doing Saturday night, they woke up with a wicked headache Sunday morning. That’s when Gazette columnist Carl Strock announced to all the world that dad James Casino, a Schenectady school board member, and mom Donna Casino, a sixth-grade teacher in the district, this summer participated in a couple of animal house-type high school graduation parties for their son James and assorted classmates and friends. If that weren’t bad enough, Strock had evidence of their irresponsible, possibly illegal, behavior — in the form of photos that Donna herself and another son, Robert, had posted on the popular social networking Web site Facebook...................>>>>.........................>>>>..................................................................http://www.dailygazette.com/news/2009/sep/01/0901_edit1/

What a joke. They clearly don't have to look any farther than strocks computer. He stated in his column that he downloaded them to his computer.

These 2 should be fired immediately! Having parties like college kids is one thing. Having an adult, especially a teacher and school board member taking part in it, just seems bizarre to me! Watch this one get brushed under the rug. This is yet another reason for the residents to attend the next school board meeting....with pitchforks as benny says! IMHO

Nobody knows nuthin -nobody saw nuthin-just like The Mad Bomber Story. It's deja vu all over again?
Maxine Brisport must fire them TODAY or also resign in disgrace. Great judgment? His resigning isn't enough- they BOTH must be discharged. Claim "family obligations".

And it gets worse. Not only is James Casino's wife a 6th grade teacher at Hamilton School he has 2 children on the School payroll! But he doesn't get a salary for his School Bored "work"? He's in it "for the kids". Yeah his kids and his wife. ROTFLMAO!!
