You have to be kidding me.  I think it is very telling that someone bothered to send the funds from the company in Canada to a PO box in Michigan then on to the Schenectady County Democratic Committee.  C'mon Brian.....you got caught, take it like a man, not a little weasel trying to lie your way out of it.  

From my discussions with officials at the Federal Election Commission in Washington, D.C. last February, it was clear to me that the Schenectady County Democratic Committee had violated federal election law by accepting this campaign contribution from a foreign national.  I am pleased that Mr. Buchanan filed a formal complaint with the federal government when he learned of the violation.  I commend Mr. Quail for returning the donation when the violation was identified, though question if he would have taken the same actions if the complaint was not filed.

We have no way to know if Mr. Buchanan's claims of "Pay to Play" in Schenectady County government can be substantiated.  As stated by others here, it is perplexing why a Canadian company would have an interest in the political system in Schenectady County.

It is good to see that the rule of law is still enforced.  The decision of the federal government should serve as notice to all political parties and candidates that there are rules to be adhered to and, moreover, that there are citizens listening to their statements and watching their actions.
