Good luck Kevin, who ever you run against won't be playing fair and smearing your opposition seems to be the way they try to win.

March and Surharda have more truth and integrity in their little finger than all the dysfunctional dems put together have.

Candy is better than lies and broken promises ... Mr Suhrada is the only one with enough balls to stand up to Ms Savage and her cronies.

I prefer an elected official who works for the betterment of his consituency and the contributions that go along with the problem solving of the challenges of government in today's world.  Joe thinks bashing the leaders elected by the people is an effective way to govern.  But then again that is the style of most Republicans in the minority ala Jimmy Tedisco, the Congress and the US Senate, Schdy Co leg, City council.

Mr. Quail,

The time is coming.  There will be political opponents in future races.  They may be from the Republican Party or the Conservative Party or, perhaps, a newly formed party.

Your smug comments and arrogance will lead to your imminent fall from "grace".

Schenectady County Dems fined for taking foreign contribution
Wednesday, December 17, 2008
By Michael Lamendola (Contact)
Gazette Reporter

SCHENECTADY — The Schenectady County Democratic Committee was fined by the federal government in November for accepting a campaign contribution from a foreign company.
The county committee will pay the $3,500 fine to the Federal Election Commission. The committee also returned the $5,000 contribution it had accepted from CanaRx Services.
"A mistake was made, the mistake was not purposeful and we are going to pay the fine," said Brian Quail, chairman of the county committee.
In a negotiated settlement, the county committee acknowledged it deposited the donation into its bank account and also said it was unaware of federal restrictions on contributions from foreign nationals.
Federal law bars a foreign national from making contributions or donations in connection to federal, state and local elections. CanaRx Services is based in Tecumsen, Ontario.
Quail said the county committee received the donation from a post office box in Michigan, thinking it therefore came from an American company.
"Our objective in this matter is to do the right thing. We returned the contribution immediately without being told by FEC. When the complaint was made to the FEC, we worked with them and the matter has been disposed of," he said.
Tom Buchanan, chairman of the Schenectady County Republican Committee, filed the complaint with the FEC in February. He said he was satisfied with the FEC decision.
"It is basically something county Democrats need to take note of in this day and age of pay to play. They have to be careful of how they do business," he said.
Buchanan accused the county Democratic Committee of soliciting and receiving contributions from people and businesses that do business with the county, including CanaRx. There is no law prohibiting American people and companies from making contributions to political parties, so long as they stay within guidelines, according to the FEC.
"It is quite clear that a Canadian [prescription] drug distributor has no interest in good government in Schenectady County other than to do business with the county. If that is not pay to play, I do not know what is," Buchanan said.
Quail called Buchanan's allegation "ridiculous" and without basis.
"There are a very broad range of individuals and entities that have contributed to the Democratic and Republican parties. You can just as easily go to a contributor to the Republican Party and ask the same question," he said.
In Rotterdam, Quail said by way of example, "There are a lot of contributors to the Republican Committee that do business with the town of Rotterdam."
Quail said people and businesses contribute to the county Democratic Committee because they like the direction and leadership provided by the party.
