Did anyone else watch the Grammy's? I did. I just can't justify Amy Winehouse winning all of those awards. I really didn't see any exceptional musical talent there. Well, there were a few others too. But not quite like her. I'd like to know what the academy bases it's decisions on.

It appears that the academy has lowered the bar.

I think that the bar was resting on the floor.

- Your placing too much importance on the Grammys- Jimi Hendrix never won one
- Jo Ann- Bumble and Senders how old are you 80 ?
It seems like we get too much information from People Magazine - the Equirer and the six oclock news-
Who do you listen to ? The Carenters- Englebert Humperdink ? Wayne newton ? Captain an Teniel ( whatever )
Where were you when Clapton was with Derek ad the Dominoes ? What about Keith Richards ? - the humaan riff- the Neil Armstrong of the rock and roll rythm guitar-
Sorry- its about the music- start putting a magnifying glass up to an artist- and your looking for trouble-
Whaat did you know about the artist of your generation ? Either not much or you didnt care-
Stop bieng so judgmental_ - your giving old people a bad name- Double your dose of Geritol-
What time does Lawrence Welk come on ?

I am a music lover. I have a music collection of every type of music. I'm not partial to any particular type of music, I just enjoy good talent. Actually exceptional talent. Which has always been hard to come by. I notice that my taste in music has also changed through the years. I find that some music I didn't like years ago, I've grown to appreciate today. And some music I loved years ago I don't like now.
I love watching the grammys and have watched them every year. I also realize that music is generational. But I still appreciate exceptional talent. And I don't need Geritol for that! :)

BTW---I dont like the Grammys and could care less....I listen to music, all different kinds----I dont pander to it....the grammys are for themselves to pander to themselves---like politicians.....it's their party and they should have fun with themselves......we have enema parties in my line of work-- ;)

Ok - I apologize- Nice -
I guess I never expected my parents to know who Janis Joplin was or were familiar with her personal habits
Im sort of glad they didnt know who John Boham was- actually Im not sure they should know- probably still dont-
Why or how would my parents know who Keith Richards was or even what group he played with.- let alone Brian Jones-
Maybe I just think people are a little too nosey and opinionated nowdays-
Senders-- ok you have restored my faith-
Im just not sure a mass public opinion of an artist is necessary- especially if you dont listen to thier music-
I mean Im not gonna beat up on Boy George or Yanni

Natalie cole had some advice for Amy Winehouse's bad habbits.addictions or behavior-
Her father Nat- a heavy smoker -died of lung cancer at age 46- Maybe she would have some anti smoking advice to give while shes at it-

It doesn't matter if you were in high school during the time of the Beatles or not. They are always being immortalize generation after generation. At least even Frank Sinatra knew when to call it quits.

PS sorry about the Geritol remark ( JoAnn )
No offense taken. No apology needed. But you need to catch up with the times. Centrum Silver, (the designer vitamin of the 21st century) has taken the place of Geritol. Not that I take that either! :D
