My regular blog, the one I rant on is on my own webspace, but I've gotten a few more at
http://www.wordpress.com.
So now when I have the time, I add to these:
Schenectady's Virtual Bottle Museum @
http://schenectadybottlemuseum.wordpress.com/Old Schenectady Postcards @
http://oldschenectadypostcards.wordpress.com/and Schenectady Politics @
http://schenectadypolitics.wordpress.com/Last but not least, I've got a "family blog" of sorts @
http://patzollinger.wordpress.com/I had lost my rants blog for a while, got it back accidentally ;D But I wanted to say that Wordpress is very easy and very nice. It's free with 50 MB of space. If you have videos just upload them to YouTube or Google Video. Then just use their instructions to link to them.
The family style blogs are the best though. I have such cute grandkids (and I'm sure you do too) and its nice to put them up on the blog.
You can have as many wordpress blogs as you wish. They don't yet limit that, and whats nice is that the dashboards are all linked together. So blog on people, blog on. :D

Just to let you know, Wordpress has upped the free space given to 3 GB. Yes, that's right Gigabytes!
So now you can upload good resolution pictures without worry, and text doesn't take much space so you can write those novels you've always wanted to.
:D

And where do you find a local company that will host a blog? I would do it.

There are several local, reputable companies. If you'd like my recommendation, contact me via email.

Wordpress is free. No money involved. And they give you 3 Gigabytes of space now, whereas it used to be 50 megabytes.
This is a very easy blog to use. And its totally free.
