Michael,
How does one join your "team" to make a comment on your blog?
Posted by: Michael, November 22, 2007, 4:32pm; Reply: 2
I'm still learning the ins-and-outs but I changed the restriction field anyway that should allow you to post any desired comment anonymously right now.  Otherwise you had to create a google account.  The team thing I think requires me to invite people to belong and then they would still have to create a google account.

Right now, the blog is intended more for me to express my views rather than be a big interactive thing.  Any comments are appreciated though if you'd care to leave them.  The comments are moderated by me so it takes a bit before they show up.

No problem.  I'll have to check it out again when I get home.  Believe it or not, I'm currently in a BK in Pennsylvania that has internet access for any of the customers that come in.  Bring your laptop, or they have 5 PCs for you to use of theirs (and I must say, it's better than mine at home).

Good for you, I hear they are offering this service at more and more places.

I agree with your perception of the Comprehensive Plan.  There is excessive urban sprawl developing every parcel possible.  The development degrades quality of life, something Rotterdam historically (at least until recently) took pride in.  Now Rotterdam is "tractor trailer alley" with the only business development as transportation and warehousing.  On a separate note, if you are who I think you are, I'm on your team!  In evaluating taxes vs. services, your time (or someone's) is now.

Thanks for the support.  I can be emailed through my blog profile at rotterdamwindmill@yahoo.com if anyone wants to contact me directly with questions or comments.

Michael, In 2003 and 2004 the town of Duanesburg was experiencing a spurt in major subdivision applications to the Planning Board.  We were not ready to deal with the issue in a way that would suit the town and we enacted a moratorium on subdivisions.  It was a chance for us to catch our breath.  I remember a reporter asking me about the effect the moratorium would have on developers and the town.  The answer was simple and direct.  I told him we would be still be here after the moratorium, the only difference is we will be more attractive then before.  We spent two years on a new Comprehensive Plan and adopted it in July 2006.  It is a thoughtful document that will guide development of the town through the next several years.  Take a look at it at http://www.duanesburg.net and let me know what you think.  My point is you are on the right track for Rotterdam to update their master plan.  Especially if it hasn't been done within the last ten years.

I printed Duanesburg's Comp Plan...needed more nightstand reading!  I've only skimmed it so far but you know what the absolute best part of it is?  It's that it was updated and adopted in 2006!  Rotterdam's Plan is from 2001 and was supposed to be updated every 5 years (or 2006).  I'm not convinced the town will complete an update, hold public hearings, and have it adopted anytime soon.

I'll be embarking on what I'm dubbing February Blogstorm.  Essentially, I'm really just picking up the pace of actually making blog entries...at least one per day with possible multiple entries per day.  The frequency will be closely correlated to my ability to procrastinate completing my taxes!

Thanks, Mobile.  I'm really more of a paper and pen type but am now trying to play catch up with "new" technology.  When I became my Dad and couldn't operate the vcr anymore I knew I had to get crackin' or get left behind!

I'll likely be limiting myself to commenting exclusively on my blog after tonight, except to clarify elements of absolute fact (ie: the confusion between GAR and GCAR).  I'll always try to post a blog regarding any meetings I attend.  You may always contact me through the email on the blog or simply post a comment in response to what I write.

I wonder how many more comments I can log before the clock strikes twelve?

First of all, I wanted to bump this to remind people about the work Michael is doing on his blog.  Thank you, Michael for your work on this.

Also, I wanted to let everybody know that I have again started my blog.  I'm going to try to keep up on it with current posts, but at least I have added a new one for now, approximately a year after my last post.

Let me know what you think.  (I wonder if I should change the name of it, though, since I have changed parties.  I don't want to lose the former articles)

Nice blog, Kevin.  I left a comment on your return debut the other day.

I just updated my blog with a new post, Lost Moon.  I'll have a lot more to say about the situation over the coming days.

Yes, I saw, and thank you, Michael.  I look forward to getting comments from many other people, also.  I realize that some people do not want to let people know who they are when they leave some remarks, and I have no problem with that, however, I will NOT accept or tolerate racism in my remarks.  If needed, I will turn off all remarks (and no, this has nothing to do with the note that Michael posted).

I've just made several new posts to my blog regarding last night's public hearing.  Replay = text of my remarks.  Things I Left Alone = additional comments.

My next blog post will likely be titled Playing Checkers and be posted no sooner than Friday, but will be followed by a flurry of other stuff.

I'm ahead of schedule somehow which means the flurry should commence almost anytime after the sun rises.

I like Ben and John......

Hard not to admire John Adams, I agree.  The vast array of accomplishments by Ben Franklin is what truly astounds me though.  I also like the fact that both of these guys made some political missteps but were intelligent and humble enough to figure out the right course of action ultimately.

This is the time of year when I return from vacation and focus my efforts on matters other than drainage.  We have quietly and informally participated in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer for many years but have decided to try something a little different this year.

Join us, The Pink Floyds, if you're able.
