Two Staph infection cases reported at Mohonasen schools, district takes preventative steps — There are two confirmed cases of Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA), one at Draper Middle School and one at the high school. We are one of many school districts throughout the state dealing with this issue, and we are working closely with the Schenectady County Health Department on the treatment and prevention of MRSA in our schools. We have implemented preventative measures in all of our schools to try to eliminate the spread of the bacteria. We want to assure you that we are doing all that is necessary to provide a safe and healthy school environment for our students and staff.

If you're a healthy person with a good immune system(not taking asthma, cold, arthritis meds and others that 'turn off/down' your immune system) then you should for the most part be okay.....Did we genetically make this 'super bug' or has it always existed and now it has a name????---I have yet to see a man made from dirt---and dirt that man has made, at that......
