SCHENECTADY — Schenectady police are searching for a man who pulled a gun during a traffic stop and then fled on foot.

From the Gazette today

Quoted Text
Schenectady police: Man pulled gun during traffic stop, fled on foot

Police were searching the area of 2nd and 3rd avenues and later on Broadway this afternoon for the individual. As of this evening he was not in custody.

The person, identified by police as a young male, pulled a gun when an officer pulled him over for a traffic violation by Congress Street in Mont Pleasant around 4:30 p.m., according to police Chief Brian Kilcullen.

Kilcullen said one man got out of the car and pulled a handgun. He then dropped the gun and fled on foot, he said. He added that there were at least two people in the car at the time.

Two helicopters circled the area and police searched the railroad tracks and woods above Broadway on foot. The man is no longer believed to be armed but is still at large.

Cheer cheer, Rah Rah, the city is improving.   The mayor and his team are doing a wonderful job.    Cheerleaders are totally SILENT about these incidents, wonder why?

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

If only the SAFE act had been put in place sooner...  That criminal would have never gotten his hands on that pistol.

(What a complete and utter moron Cuomo is)

Violence and shootings would still be happening with or without the Safe Act.....and where is Bennett in all this....

Government needs to change big time in this city before it Really ends up in the toilet....

I don't see any of these politicians as leaders......talk talk and no action....all about everything but the CRIME in this city....

pretty soon it will happen where innocent bystanders are going to be hurt or worse.......and assaulting and beating a cop??...downright horrific.....if they don't

respect the law sober......what do you expect when impaired......

and a misdemeanor for resisting arrest?????????...that right there needs to be addressed.....

I didn't hear of any incidents in the city of a deceased woman. I did hear there was an incident in Rotterdam where a woman was shot in the neck or head Saturday night Sunday morning. But I can't find anything in the media
