At least the two that were elected were current on their school taxes.

But that Hull, still DELINQUENT, and the school board has not taken any steps to remove her!   Terrible.   In the past year she made ONE, just ONE quarterly payment on her school taxes.  That ONE payment is just around $500 and the woman makes almost $70,000 a year in salary paid by the taxpayers.   Now to mention, she has favor with the city, i.e., one of those no interest mortgages and no requirement to make regular payments.  And failing to pay taxes is grounds, according to the mortgage, for default, but the city has don't NOTHING to penalize her despite the FACT that she has failed to abide by the requirements of the mortgage.

I didn't vote, wanted to, but they moved my polling place to far away for me to walk there.
Also a heads up.
For the general elections, last year I had to vote on Broadway. Now I do a check online and see the polling place is again moved now to Albany St.
Never notified of the changes.

I'm surprise.  I'd call the board because even those post cards won't be sent out for a couple months.  But election districts are determined by all those other districts (senate, congress, assembly, county legislative) which are drawn up based on the 2010, and the 2010 census would not have changed.  But sometimes maybe a polling site is changed because, for example, a site might not be handicapped accessible (I'd bet all are now), but maybe a school is used and the school is going to close (Elmer Ave is a good example), so the site might change.

A friend of mine had her school voting site moved, quite a number of years back, to "consolidate" sites, although the place she had been voting at was still open. She had to go from an easy walk from her home, to a walk that was doable but farther than she would have liked. Also the new site featured parking hassles.
I'm wondering now if these changes only serve to disrupt established voting habits. Hmm.
Another reason to have neighborhood schools, no confusion as to where to vote, and no inconvenience. Neighborhoods were truly neighborhoods.
p.s. it was pointed out to me, the sidewalk in front of the high school is in atrocious condition. Why should that be?

My poll place was Paige, way too far for most people in my neighborhood to go. I voted around 8pm, #47.

I used to vote at Martin Luther King Magnet school on the school budget for years. They changed it to Mt. Pleasant Middle School now and I can't walk
that far.

As for general elections, used to vote at Carver Community Center for years, they closed and last election voted at Ten Eyck on Broadway, which was
quite a hike especially coming home up the hill from Veeder.
Ten Eyck is handicap accessible etc. The "bad" part was you walked into the main hall, down a hallway, into the dining area (where many elderly were
eating) past them into a small room off the dining room.

Now when I checked online it says I'm to vote at the Girls Club on Albany St. which is also quite a hike.

I'm wondering how many people who did go to vote for the school elections went to the wrong place.
And in November same thing, how many people will go to their usual voting place only to find it's changed.

I could understand people that move a lot not getting notification where to vote, but I've lived here over 30 years
