Just passing it along

SCHENECTADY — Schenectady police are surrounding a home on Avenue A, between Mason and Kenwood streets, trying to get a person out of the house who is barricaded inside.

According to scanner traffic, the person might have been involved in a stabbing that happened in the city recently. Police Lt. Mark McCracken declined comment, citing an open investigation.

It appears multiple people went to the Avenue A home after being on the Union College campus a few blocks away. Union College spokesman Phil Wajda said he doesn’t believe the people involved are college students.

Police do not have the street blocked off. It’s open to traffic and pedestrians as a couple of police officers stand behind the house with guns drawn.

Several neighbors on the street said police took at least one person into custody.

Police stood at the back door of the home encouraging the person who is barricaded inside to come out willingly.

“Answer me, I know you’re in there,” a police officer said as he stood by the open back door. “We’re not going anywhere.”

Another officer walked inside the first floor of the home and started yelling, “Make it easier for yourself and come out. Don’t let me come up there.”

The person in the house is possibly a young man. Police were referencing him by a first name and also exclaimed, “your mom should be here any minute.”

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

I was just over that way a week or so ago. I was reminded of one family I know, had a house over there, a nice house, but they got out and now reside in Clifton Park. I bet if and when they hear of this they are breathing a heavy sigh of relief.
Should have had the cops check out the steps while they were there.
