On the brighter side, La Mexicana in Woodlawn is worth a visit, for those who enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine. I don't know if it has been mentioned on here before or not.

I think it's across from that small brick shopping strip. It looks like nothing from the outside. There's a grocery attached to it, but there is indeed a real, sit-down restaurant as well. There is parking behind it, more than meets the eye.
An actual Mexican recommended it.

State Street. I left that part out. Everything in Woodlawn is on State Street though, isn't it?

Gotten takeout there a couple times. good stuff. Also their store has a lot of Mexican foods and sauces. I like the Herdez line of salsas.
