It's really too bad, this site could be so useful as a sounding board, a civil exchange of viewpoints and information, but it gets discredited by one sick individual who can't control himself. Most casinos are being built on brownfield sites where some kind of manufacturing took place. The plants closed but they left a lot of  residue behind and the neighborhood is usually a little banged up.

The Delphi Automotive plant in Columbus Ohio is gone. Now is occupied by the Hollywood Casino

Wagner  Bakery-in downtown Detroit  the original Wonder bread factory is now the Motor City Casino


The only casino I can think of built in a 'nice ' area is the Hollywood Casino that overlooks the NASCAR  track in Kansas City
