Since we all can agree that he has done a great job in the past 4 years, we might as well look forward to Mayor McCarthy's next 4 years.  During those 4 years, we will see Mohawk Harbor completed, more positive development projects along the Erie Boulevard, Lower State Street and Broadway corridors as well as some exciting new proposals to spread the RENAISSANCE to all the neighborhoods.

What has he done in the past 4 years, dV??????

What has he done for the tax base?
What has he done for the tax BILLS of the HOMEOWNERS?
What has he done for home values?
What has he done to bring assessment values in line with market values?
What has he done for home sales?
What has he done for home sale prices?
What has he done for having snow plowed back to the curb?
What has he done for insuring that his police chief lives IN the city and pays the city taxes?
What has he done to remove the burden of the homeowners paying the taxes of Galesi and the rest of the billionaires?
What has he done to lower taxes on the homeowners?
What has he done to stop homeowners from fleeing the city?
What has he done to stop homeowners from putting their homes up for sale
What has he done so houses won't take two years to sell?
What has he done to enforce the recycling laws in the city?
What has he done to take care of the ever increasing number of city owned properties?
What has he done to enforce the sidewalk shoveling laws on private properties?
Why did he leave sidewalks unshoveled on most of the city owned residential properties?

If he has done such a wonderful job, why do you REFUSE to own OR rent IN the city?????

Huh?  The COWARD DV will NOT answer that one.

The coward DV will NOT answer ANY of the above questions.

And can you tell us WHEN McCarthy will put an end to forcing the homeowners give their tax money (via handouts and tax exemptions) to the private developers who are filthy rich?

Tax and spend.

Erie Blvd between GE and State will not fill up with businesses unless they are more corporate welfare queens.

Happy days are here again
The skies above are clear again
Let us sing a song of cheer again
Happy days are here again
Altogether shout it now!
There's no one who can doubt it now
So let's tell the world about it now
Happy days are here again
Your cares and troubles are gone;
There'll be no more from now on
Happy days are here again
The skies above are clear again
Let us sing a song of cheer again
Happy days are here again

Happy days for the residents of the city knowing that DV will NEVER live IN the city.

What can you expect from a 50+ year old baby boy who can't live like a normal, independent, self-sufficient adult.

DVOR must have been drinking last night, I opted for some new lyrics.

Election days are here again
The choice for them is crap oh man
Let the poor revolt and disband the sham
Election days are here again

Altogether we’ll rout them from their stools
There’s no one who can doubt they’re tools
So see the crooks to jail and back to the rules
Happy days we’d sing like fools

The taxes here are just too high
And selling at all just won’t fly
Maybe walking out will be what I try
Are Happy days gone oh why

Will this solve your fears and troubles so
This might be so if you see them go
Maybe if Vince would give it a go
Happy days can come again

If we fail this year to kick the dim
I’d hate to see the city of sin
All full of bars and games to win
Happy days may never come

Oh cool, song parodies!! I love them. Very clever.

Here's one that some friends made up once. They even recorded it.

Downtown
Words by: Graham Bonnet
w/apologies to Tony Hatch

When you've got connections
To the Democrat Party
You can get free dough downtown
Then you've no worries,
and the truth you can bury
Seems to help, I know, downtown

Just listen to the jingle of the payoffs in the city
Vagrants on the sidewalk where the urine stains aint pretty
TaxPAYERS lose!

The Plex has great power there
They can hide all of the troubles, pretend that they care and be
Downtown, Millionaires waiting for
Downtown, Condos next to the sewer,
Downtown, Metroplex schilling for
(Downtown)

Shift all the taxes
To the rest of the town
Dog and Pony shows downtown
Maybe you know
Some politicians to go to
When the banks are closed downtown

listen to the rhythm of a gentle assault rifle
We'll be dodgin' bullets, in the street in front of Bombers

Grab your wallet again

Taxbreaks are much bigger there
They can hide all of the troubles, pretend that they care and be
Downtown know how to grease the wheel,
Downtown, Our leaders know how to steal,
Downtown, Metroplex runs the whole dealllll
(Downtown downtown)

"I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving
               hysterical naked,
dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn looking for
               an angry fix,"

First:  I wasn't drinking. Not that it is anyone's business if I was.

Second:  I was very lucid when I posted that Mayor McCarthy's first term has been great for the city and, indeed, Happy Days ARE Here Again.

Third:  Van Morrison isn't just quaint.  He is an incredibly gifted artist who can craft word and music to convey the deepest feelings of many.  And many folks think that the blithering, sniveling nayboobs are a bunch of god dam fools --- particularly "you know who."     blah, blah, blah... all cheap talk but no action ...  same old lies and sh*t, just a different day from "you know who."

(yawn) The mayor is a helluva lot more intelligent than all those who insult him on this website combined.

Second:  I was very lucid when I posted that Mayor McCarthy's first term has been great for the city

The mayor's first term has
--Caused a MASSIVE reduction in the city's tax base
--Caused property values to fall so very much that the city of Schenectady is the second highest over-assessed municipality in the whole state of New York
--Caused the taxes to be the highest around and going higher.

DV, would you care to explain how this is "great"   ??????   Oh, yeah, you won't respond to those FACTS because they would prove that the mayor is a big failure.
