goodies ? that is the fundamental flaw in your paradigm  that government is sort of like santa clause. Making a list checking it twice- gonna find out who is naughty or nice ?

in my case my dad earned e GI BILL to buy a house  and get out of town.

You are. And I think you should spend less time posting here, and more time working so you earn more and can pay more taxes, so you can continue funding my free, socialized healthcare. BWAHAHAHAHA!!! Get to work slacker. I'm due for a CT scan that you'll be paying for.

I certainly appreciate your honesty.  You truly understand that you are a freeloader, and you are not under the delusion that you are a  "hero" that "earned" your entitlements.

What time do you start work? Are there now? If so get off this site and get back to work you lazy dog!! I told you this "freeloader" needs a damn CT scan. I am no hero, I got mine now you need to work to get yours.

Oh wait, you can't. You'll NEVER get free healthcare. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! While you're working until you're 80 I'll be laughing my a** off at you, because I fully intend to stay alive for as long as possible to spend as much of your "hard earned" tax dollars on my FREE SOCIALIZED healthcare.

VA medical care isn't SOCIALIZED....That would imply that I would have access to it.  It's welfare, I pay for it, but  I'm too productive to get the entitlement.

OOOhh poor baby. Just keep being productive and paying taxes so you can support MY free healthcare, that's all I care about. And btw, unless you're earning while you're posting here you should get offline and get back to work. I have a free physical coming up next week and I need to make sure somebody's putting money in the pot to pay for it.

Oh Oh, I just thought of a way for you to get free healthcare too. Stop paying your taxes. Get a lengthy prison sentence for not paying your taxes. VOILA!! Free healthcare. Problem solved.

I don't desire free medical care paid by others.  Poor baby?  The desire to be cared for for free couldn't be any more childish.  That's what children expect from their parents.

Bullshit!! If you were offered free healthcare you'd take it in a minute. You ain't that noble. Nobody is, and anyone who says that they'd turn down free healthcare is a damn liar or a fool.

there is no such thing as 'free HEALTH care', you see, health care is where the personal choice of lifestyle is. exercise/diet/smoking/drinking
etc etc....

there is no such thing as 'free health INSURANCE'(or is there?), subsidies are used and penalties are used to coerce, should one be made
to forfeit their health CARE choices to make the subsidies less onerous on the rest?

there is no such thing as 'free MEDICAL care' (or is there?), again, taxes are used to finance the subsidies, should one be made to follow
all coerced health'care' choices mandated by the health 'insurance' regulations in order to get the 'medical' care?

it's all an illusion of 'free/savings'.......just like a municipal waste collector....NO ONE WORKS FOR FREE.....

however, people want choice in their HEALTH care.....not regulation/mandation/coercion

You're essentially right. In reality my healthcare isn't free. I had to give up 3 years of my life to qualify for it. And other folks, those hard working taxpayin' folk, do pay for my healthcare. Still giving up 3 years early in my life seems a small price to pay for what I have now. Especially when I see and hear about the nightmare affordable health care is for others.  That being said I hope that you are healthy, working and paying your taxes and contributing to my healthcare also.

You weren't offered free medical care unconditionally.  You had to become property of the US government and do tricks for them.  In return, they promised that those who would not offer themselves as property, would be paying for your medical care.

So it was offered to me, I just didn't want the government to own me for 2 years and sacrifice my life as they see fit, in return for an entitlement.
