patches - not that I really care if you believe me or not, Look at DCJS re: crime over the past 5-6 years.

It only shows 2009-13 figures and it wasn't much of a drop at all, some appear to show a uptrend in crime. It would be interesting to see updated stats.

More consolidation success!

Less ERs will bring the stats down for sickness and injuries.

seems like with McClellan St ER not available...the Ellis ER is always like that.....had a friend wait 6 hrs......told there were many ahead....BUT....were

admitting and caring for others who came in after...with less injuries...illness.....ended up going to Emergency care in Clifton Park....the Emergency Care

thru Albany Med....does not take all insurances...it was frustrating and chaotic not to be able to get care until 12 hrs later.....

also, THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT is not working....seems like all are on Medicaid...therefore.....care is selective

A year ago almost to the day I needed some medical attention. Having not needed to see a Dr. for many years, I was shocked when I was turned away at the clinic I had always gone to, because I didn't have the "right kind of Medicare". The following day I hied myself over to the Stratton VA ER. I had to wait 10 minutes before I was seen. My problems were taken care of. I have in the last year made many visits to both the Stratton VA as well as the VA clinic on Gerling St. I've never waited for more than 10 minutes for any of my appointments. For this old soldier the VA works just fine. I really feel bad for those of you who struggle with your Healthcare issues and insurance.

I can't speak to whether the Ellis ER was full.  However, I can say that the new Ellis ER is huge and quite an improvement over the old ER at Ellis and the old ER at  St Clare's.   The McClellan Campus no longer has an ER.  That close a couple months ago when the new ER opened.
The level of service at the new Ellis ER is IMHO great.  And I base this on personal experience.  No long waits. Very professional and attentive staff.  Nothing negative to say about the experience.

Index crime 3928 -2408

Robbery 243 - 204 (was 199 last year and at prior to the trend downward it peaked at over 300)

Burglary 823 -769 (peaked at over 1000 prior to the downward drop)

Larceny - 2299 - 1878

Robbery, Burglary, Larceny are the crimes most likely to be perpetrated by strangers.

Still a lot of room for improvement and work to be done but the stats are pretty clear, as much as that may frustrate a few on this bite.

re: unreported crime - yep, when the stats don't fit your agenda, reach for invisible, unverifiable facts

Next time you talk to a non veteran.  Thank them for working hard and paying for your medical care.

I do. And may I inquire as to YOUR health. Are you able to work? Do you pay your taxes? It's important to me that non-veterans such as yourself stay healthy and continue to pay into the system  to support MY socialized medicine. So thank you very much for seeing to it that I stay healthy, while sucking your paycheck dry. BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I might add, that when a non-veteran finds out that I'm a veteran and "thanks me for my service", is when I thank them for paying for my healthcare.

No, I'm sayin veterans contribute to medical care THEY CAN USE.  Non Veteran pay for medical care THEY ARE PROHIBITED TO USE.  Talk about a bigoted narrow minded segregated system.
