Police in Schenectady are looking for a shooter on the loose.

The incident happened just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday on Martin Street, between State and Albany Streets. When police arrived, they say they found a victim on the ground with a gunshot wound to both of his legs.

According to officials, the man was talking to police, but there was a language barrier. He was taken to Albany Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses say they heard two gun shots and saw a man peal away from the scene in a maroon Honda Accord station wagon. Police are still in the early stages of the investigation and are asking anyone with information to contact authorities immediately.
