Saratoga's list is longer -- look at how many violations at the Flat Track and some of the "supposedly" better restaurants in Saratoga Springs.

I haven't looked at the Saratoga list.  But reading the Schdy list, the majority are minor.  The worst one was McDonalds in nisky.  Are they making ice with non potable water?

Most are for uncooked to cooked cross contamination.

I went to the Chinese restaurant across from Stewarts on Hamburg St. and ordered chicken fingers.

They had a Pepsi cooler with glass doors right in the front.

They pulled out a round plastic container with a clear top, filled with the uncooked food, dumped them into the fryer, then put them back in the same container.

The name of the place is Yummy Yummy.

WAAAAHHHH    Cry Cry    Typical DV, has to find something in Saratoga just to make the failing city of Schenectady look good.   Saratoga, land substantially lower taxes for much bigger houses, and houses that actually increase in value, as opposed to Schenectady where people lose money.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Yes it's true most are minor, but they are cited because the potential to be major exists if not dealt with.   These minor infractions may result in a minor health issue at some point, until it happens to oneself.   Then it's a  major issue.   These inspections are a way to let the establishments be aware that someone is watching.

If I were to guess, the same food safety violations found in resturants are the same violations they would find in 90% of people's homes when they prepare and cook their food, and refrigerate it.  For instance.  Unless you have an old water heater and keep it at max temp, the hot water on most homes does not get hot enough to kill pathogens, and I don't know many people that sanitize their kitchenware.  Washing the plate that had raw chicken on it with Dawn dish detergent does not kill salmonella.

Wonder how often the downtown Sch'dy establishjments are inspected.   With the investments/reputations at stake there I would hazard a guess that those places are the safest places to eat at when dining out.

Yes, it is the worse. It's makes me wonder how Broadway Joes isn't in violation somehow. My entire family and several friends and co-workers I know have all gotten extremely sick after eating there. Shame too, the food was good but not worth two days stuck in bed (or the floor of the bathroom).

bingo!..... but in a restaurant a person can blame them and get a lawyer....and the public must be protected because then if they
get sick they will miss work/miss money and be less of worker/spender because someone else was paid to make your food, so
to make it fair they will have to pay some of that money they collected from you to big brother to alleviate the days of work
you may have missed being sick.

we shouldn't pay the government to help them stay in business....word of mouth does wonders to put them out of business.....

it's not protection for the masses, it's protection for the business so that it can stay in business.......

kind of like the raids in nyc for 'off label dealers'......

I'm unclear as to whom is being 'protected'........
