Does he REALLY need to wait until Oct 1 to release his proposed budget?

Most proposed ones have been released the past week

Right, don't live in the city, but DO live in the county.   And what the thieves in the city do DOES affect our county taxes.

As the city has caused massive reduction to the tax base in the city, the reductions in the taxable values in the CITY DOES get mathematically calculated into the COUNTY tax bills.

and you are bringing this information to the attention of WHO that
can attempt to make improvements or "out" the corruption?????
Again, don't say DVOR (even though you seem to be infatuated with him),
because he is not at that level in the DEM party or Politics in general!

It's funny, DV makes himself out to be high in politics, has stated how he's been at McCarthy's office (meaning office in city hall), he is allegedly socializes with all  the politicians, is seen in photographs with local up to state elected officials.

One never knows who might read these boards at some point who might have the right type of power or influence.

we have freedom to speak in this country, do we not?     Perhaps you believe that it's better to keep it a secret that these politicans and people close to the city and Meroplex are tax deadbeats.   No one is supposed to know that.   Some of us know how to research things and we find the truths and present the evidence here to inform others.

Other people make statements on here but never provide evidence.

Doesn't the squeaky wheel get the grease?

Speaking through ACTION is where the power is, not the cut-n-paste stuff
on a "Rotterdam" forum.  Sitting on a computer and whining and feeling
like the people's hero DOESN'T GET THINGS CHANGED!

I am sure DVOR has political connections. My statement
is that he is not in a position to implement change, especially since the accusations
being made are against the party he basically represents.

Squeaky wheels usual can be publicly heard....not hearing any squeaks!

Keep up the good work, MC. One never knows who is looking. Don't let people who don't understand the budget, or taxes, or how people not inside the city are affected by city government, tell you what matters or is or isn't effective, as they have already told you they don't know what they are talking about.
BTW, everyone in my neighborhood is getting their unsafe gas lines replaced with new, safe ones. Did my "whining" on this forum have anything to do with it? Who knows?

There is more to the new service that they are installing than you think.

Gas used to be unstoppable.

You could always depend on the gas supply in an emergency.

Now with the new meters, your gas can be shut off remotely, during an emergency
or if you use more than what the government decides is your share.

The government will now control your thermostats.

You are correct, but in a lot of the cases (Tax Exemptions) where the city reduces the tax base it is to the benefit of the county as a whole.   SCCC dorms for example where the county received $250,000 lump sum for a 40 year lease.  The sales tax has grown from $30 million to almost $100 million and the city's portion has remained the same at a little over $11 million.  A large part of the county is getting water and sewer at discount rates at the city's expense.  The new court room that is needed will cost the city more than the county in the end.

Thanks for the info, L4. We had those new meters up here for about 3 years now. We just got notices that they need to inspect inside the house because they have to every three years by law, and when the meter readers used to come inside it was a moot issue. So I guess they won't have to come and physically remove the meters from houses occupied by squatters any more?
I wonder if the new system of shutting off gas remotely is tested, or are we the guinea pigs? As in, hey, there's a vacant house in the Upper Union area, shut that service off...hisss....BOOM! Back to the drawing board.

They're only inspecting, sniffing around, what Nat Grid is responsible for, guy came to my house oh I think middle of July. Anything past the meter is the homeowners responsibility. They take a picture of your meter after they're done. 3 year deal may have something to do with a rate increase Nat Grid may be looking for. Oh yeah they won't ring your doorbell, will knock on the door.
