Policing 101 according to Chief Hamilton.

Lesson 1 -  always threaten emotionally disturbed teenagers with veiled threats of violence("strap you to a stretcher and bring you to Ellis Hospital").  Followed by a direct threat of violence("you can walk off the bus or we can hogtie you")

Quoted Text
James Hamilton issued a statement saying an internal review determined that "officers followed department protocol and procedures."

Gocheski sat silently with his head down as Ryan could be heard trying to convince him to get off the bus. "What are we going to do here?" Ryan asked. "You can either walk off the bus, or we can drag you off the bus, strap you on a stretcher and take you to Ellis Hospital. You can walk off the bus like a young man or we can hogtie you."

these tactics are used all over the country...who is kidding who....NYC ...chokehold....Ferguson.....militia......

what ever happened to negotiators ....and in some instances what ever happened to tasers.....

now it's strong arm and bully tactics....that either ends up with the victim being harmed or murdered.......

the police need to be retrained ......and cut the stron arm...shaved head behavior.....it reminds me of what went on overseas in WWII

learn how to deal with the REAL perps...

MAYBE THE MONEY THAT IS IN THE LAWSUIT SHOULD COME OUT OF THE COPS POCKETS DIRECTLY.....AND THE PBA.....MAYBE THAT WOULD BE A LESSON LEARNED....

police are NOT trained to deal with 'disabled'.....the company that does the transportation IS.......

Police officers NOT healthcare workers, mental health(hygiene the new fancy name) or anything remote....

their job is to 'take down and subdue'.....

maybe an ambulance should have been called for medication....because in America that's the other route we like to go....

medicate kids to sit in school
medicate elderly to 'be happy' in a nursing home

I wasn't there and I'm not defending the police 100%,,,but maybe protocol could involve calling an ambulance with an MD order
to back up what was needed....

as I understand it the ambulance was there.....the problem is....this is happening all over the USA.....recruits get training but not for negotiation for

handling "delicate" situations....it's guns and violence.....for any citizen.....

I was told they do not have the necessary training for "challenged" citizens.....IT'S NOT NECESSARY.......well Ferguson, Mo is a good example of why

the law has gone mad and their defense is "life was in jeopardy"....while that may be true .....it's not for all instances.....

every police dept in this country needs an EXPERIENCED NEGOTIATOR that's where money should be spent.....not on raises and perks for retirement....

the society of today proves that this is  necessary....REMS is more equipped than people think for handling delicate situations...

BUT our REGIME is too far gone to even have things change.....

this is why I could never be a police officer.....the do gooder politicians play you and the public demonizes you....

but the public ALWAYS demands "what are THEY going to do about blah blah blah"

we have become a public that demands service even if it is our own shackles because we 'paid for it'

"We" haven't demanded anything.  The government that governs is "elected" by about 30% of the population.  The media projects the "demands" that the so-called people want.  The government(legitimized by 30%) policies are dictated by the media news coverage, which is dictated by the two party establishment.  The whole thing is a carnival show.

most of the collective 'we' does demand it....it's the American Idol of today....a lot of folks were well indoctrinated
in the public schools.....everyday at work I hear

'they need to do something'

'that's terrible, the government needs to
make something up, make it a good sound bite and everyone will agree and everything will be all better and I won't have
to worry about things any more.'

what we never here is "the government gave me these food stamps and heap assistance AND they gave
money to GE to hire workers at $15/hour so the government can then subsidize my family of 4 some more"

makes your head spin like a demon
