Big new mixed-use project being proposed for lower State Street involving Olender's, Robinson's and Army/Navy properties.    Hats of to the leaders of the City-County of Schenectady and Metroplex/County Economic Development.
The good news keeps coming.  More good news to come.

I thought maybe it was the definitive cause of the house explosion. Btw, the TU had a commentary on the house explosion in the opinion section. Not too flattering for the city leaders.

And tell us DV.   WHAT are the financially struggling homeowners in the neighborhoods going to get in return for the taking of their tax dollars for this?????

Well, answer???????

You NEVER NEVER NEVER state what the homeowners get in return for the taking of their tax dollars.

News for dV's so called renaissance - DV spews babble but does not put his two mommies' money where his mouth his.   He ABSOUTELY REFUSES to live IN the city.   He won't even put his pinky toe IN the city.

So another project taxpayers will subsidize   Another project which will be the same thing as all under the past ten years of dem leadership:

Tax base will fall more
Tax BILLS will go higher
More houses will go up for sale
More vacant house
More people will flee the city
More abandoned homes
More reduction in NECESSARY city service.
More UNNECESSARY taxpayer funded parties for downtown

Proves how little you know.  I work IN the city.  I am IN the city EVERY day of the week.

To the rest of your insane rant -- go back read my response to you a few days ago.  Apparently, you are too dumb to comprehend the message.  Too bad - I don't care - so rant and babble like a mad dog all you like.  Have a nice day.

IF you really worked IN the city, you would admit how BAD the city is, the record high numbers of houses up for sale, people fleeing the city in droves, NO ONE (including YOU) wanting to buy a house IN the city, the increasing tax foreclosures, the blight spreading like wildfire in every neighborhood -- all due to your buddy dems STEALING from homeowners via higher taxes and forcing them to pay the property and school taxes of the millionaires downtown

105 upscale apartments and about 10,000 feet of retail space being planned for the Olender-Robinson site.

Downtown Schenectady needs GOOD, NEW residential units.  This is part of a plan that has worked in urban centers around the country.   Bring people BACK to living in the urban center.

Hats off to Metroplex -- looking forward to the next RENAISSANCE Good News.

Oh here he goes again, the NON-TAXPAYER cheering for the THEFT of taxpayer money.

In dV's warped pea brain mind, the whole city except downtown should be torn town.   HUNDREDS UPON HUNDREDS of absolutely beautiful houses for sale, in very good condition, but won't sell because why?   IT'S THE DEMS STEALING FROM THE TAXPAYERS.

So, DV, tell us how all the ALLEGED economic development has helped the city so far.

What has it done for the tax base in the city?
What has it done for the property values in the city?
What has it done for the desirability of people to buy a house in the city?
What has it done for the numbers of home sales in the city?
What has it done for the home sale prices in the city?
What has it done for the numbers of people putting their homes up for sale in the city?
What has it done for the condition of the roads in the neighborhoods where the taxpayers live?
What has it done for the number of zombie houses in the city?
What has it done for the number of tax foreclosures in the city?
What has it done for the political cronies becoming tax deadbeats?
What has it done for the essential city services to the residents?
What has it done for the numbers of abandoned houses in the city?
What has it done to the blight in the city?
What has it done to the tax BILLS of homeownrs?

OF COURSE, AS USUAL, DV ABSOUTELY REFUSES TO ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS.

Spew babble but NEVER NEVER NEVER provide one teeny weeny shred of EVIDENCE to support what he says.   His nose is as brown as his sh*t

His nonsense babble proves he doesn't come anywhere near the city, does not put a pinky yoe IN the city.

DV can't provide ONE TEENY WEENY TINY MINUTE SHRED  of EVIDENCE that all this wild uncontrolled spending of taxpayers money on the so called "economic development" is helping the city, it's homeowners and residential taxpayers.

I don't see how you'd fit 105 "upscale" anything there.  I mean maybe efficiency apartments, but upscale implies not tiny.

Plus where is parking for up to 210 cars?  I mean if upscale - you'd have to assume dual income tenants, each with a car to go to work in.

I am sure that they have a plan to deal with both those issues.

As for transportation, once we get the second track completed between Albany & Schenectady and high speed train service along the corridor to NYC -- I can see where Downtown Schenectady (actually even the surrounding neighborhoods) would be great places to live and hop on a train to work.  I still would like to see light rail service connecting Albany to Saratoga via Schenectady -- that would be the best of all worlds.

But you ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to live ANYWHERE IN the city.   NOT own, NOT rent.

What a HYPOCRITE LIAR

And of course ABSOLUTELY REFUSES to respond and say how all this wild uncontrolled spending of taxpayer money spent on downtown is helping the the people.

Where is the return on their FORCED investment?????????????     NO ANSWER, OF COURSE.
