Real answers:

Eliminate ALL tax exemptions to all these plex projects, no more so called "pilots" where the millionaires pay far less than the full share of taxes.

NO MOE tax money handed out to fix up buildings downtown.   The homeowners are struggling financially and have no money to do work on their own homes---whether to upgrade kitchesns, add decks, install new windows or necessary repairs like putting on a new roof or replacing a furnace or replacing a sidewalk.   But the city leaders expect the taxpayers to foot the bill for new buildings downtown.

Actually it starts with us who do pay taxes and are intelligent enough about these issues and can produce the evidence, to get the word out.  I don't know, maybe the people who are living in the city today are just as stupid as DV that they cannot sere what the city and county leadership is doing to the city.

Yes, Greg Floyd's think last week was good, but that was more general, which is OK, but he needs to do a big week long you-paid-for-it segment on Schenectady the city alone.   No interference from city leaders, no threats from them.  Such a segment must document the wealth of ALL downtown property owners from Galesi to Marcellas and Villa Italia and make sure the public knows how rich these people are and how much they are getting from the taxpayers.   He should find some struggling families in the city who can show perhaps cracks in the foundation of their house that need repair, explain how their gross pay income is under $40,000 and after federal income tax, state income tax, Social security tax, and medicare tax withheld and then pay taxes on things like gas and Nat Grid and toilet paper, then they have to pay the city/co/school tax bill of $7,000 plus getting the point across that some of the sales tax paid goes to the millionaires and billionaires for new buildings for them, new gin mills and the like while sales tax coming into the county is falling.  Get that point across that Galesi owns the old DSS building and yet with his billions the city decides to STEAL from the homeowners in the city and force them to pay for the demo of the building when homeowners are barely keeping their heads above water.

People in the city need to be informed on how, for example, Marcella's gets a brand new building at taxpayer expense, is exempt from paying the full property taxes on his new building (thus causing financially struggling homeowners to pay higher taxes) and then on top of all that Marcella's has the NERVE to fail to pay taxes on his old buildings!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These FACTS and TRUTHS along with the EVIDENCE from official records and along with photos of the blight spreading in all the neighborhoods needs to be drilled into Schenectady homeowners heads.  On the news, unannounced to the city.  TV should bring this out before the city has time to manipulate numbers and come up with lies.

Find out how much money the city and county dems leaders are getting in political contributions from all these wealthy downtown owners and also, all these kickbacks aka political contributions, when companies are listed, the news needs to explain it so people have a complete understanding of the fact that many contributions APPEAR to come from multiple sources but that is just because one contributor is known under all kinds of different names.  Some people know how to identify all the "Galesi" properties in downtown even though the word "Galesi" does not appear anywhere.

While I understand that government officials need to have "their side" explained, they should not be given the opportunity to be given time hide things before this stuff goes public.   Like Marcella not paying taxes on his other properties.   We would NOT want news media who might do a story about the downtown business "beneficiaries" of tax money to give the city a chance to "fix" the tax records on the school district website for example.  King Phillips salary from some site (I which I could remember, I think Pat Z may have posted it some years ago) it was I believe something from the fed government, forms filed I believe, it showed his salary, so news can get that documentation, then get images from the county budget showing the info from the county budget where it shows taxpayer money given to Proctors, then the news can do the math and say "look, he gets paid with taxpayer money."   And this should come out in the news broadcast BEFORE the government has the opportunity to "fix" documents.

Unless news media gets out with all this, it will be kept secret of sorts.  Guess the people in the city fall for everything the city and county and plex tell them.  They don't research on their own to find the real numbers, etc.  So, they see pretty new buildings downtown and think the city is in a renaissance.

I was actually amazed at some of the houses within the city that sold maybe last summer, last fall where they may have sold for $100,000 but were assessed upwards of $160,000 and the owners did not grieve their assessments because this year's final roll shows them with the same, I mean not even a $10,000 reduction in assessment.   And when you really look at records, you will see that they are indeed arms length transactions.  Obviously all these informational sessions for homeowners on buying a house IN the city does NOT include an explanation on how taxes are calculated, i.e., explaining to them that their house was worth $160,000 in 2010, and today it's worth roughly $100,000 and that they should grieve their assessment.  Totally clueless homebuyers.

Just glad that I do not live IN the city nor own any property IN the city.   I just fear what is happening in the city is going to be spreading to the towns, I mean some of it IS spreading to Rotterdam already

petty and stupid, yes i agree 100%... BUT self supporting and doing quite well....yup...LMAO....and you seem just like most of your democratic buddies here in the city....another boot lick crony that's destined to be a burden to society....

where is it you live again?    with who?     when you buy a house then we can talk, till then you should pay attention and learn...

I am self supporting and own several properties.  My personal business is NOT the issue nor is the personal business of my family.   That is why the he/she jack a** and YOU are worthless dirt bags.  Because you can NOT  argue the FACTS of issues without making up lies about others, launching personal attacks and making attacks on family members of people who disagree with you.

You have nothing to teach so you aren't worth listening to.  You are a boor so I have no reason to want to talk to you.

The FACT is that Marcella's is a fine business and it does provide tax revenue to our community, good paying jobs and has a positive impact on the community.  The Marcellas are also very supportive of the community -- and wonderful people.  We need more people like the Marcellas and Mallozzis (and the other people that you attack) in our community and a lot fewer dirt bag, vermin nayboobs like you.

KMA and I hope you have a miserable day.

I am self supporting

52 years old on June 1, you CLAIM to be self supporting but explain why you are not living as a NORMAL adult man, in your own place?

Why have you been living with two aunties for over 20 years?    You moved out of mommy and daddy's RENTED place and moved into a house with two aunties.

It is NOT normal adulthood to live with two nannies for over 20 years.

You had a business but obviously lost it and lost your insurance license

You claim to have properties but you never correctly discuss things that have to do with mortgage, interest, taxes, assessments, etc.

You are telling fairy tales just like the fairy tales you told when you said the county taxes today are lower than in he 1970's but you have not been able to provide one speck of evidence to your statement

Provides tax revenue?????   How much??????   A few bucks?   I have a sister and brother-in-law that live in Malta, they are actually looking to redo their kitchen.   If they go and buy their new fridge-freezer, cook top, stove hood, double oven, garbage disposal, dishwasher, microwave,  from Marcella's, tell us DV, how much sales tax revenue does that generate for Schenectady????

1.  Tell us DV, IF Marcella's paid FULL PROPERTY TAXES on it's place on Broadway, how much would it pay?

2.  Tell us DV, how much Marcella's pays in property TAXES on it's place on Broadway.

3.  Tell us DV, how much the financially struggling families of incomes of a paltry $40,000 pay in property TAXES  for Marcella's place on Broadway?

4.   Tell us DV, how much did the financially struggling taxpayers pay for the building of a brand new building for Marcella's (while the homeowners had to forgot necessary repairs on their own homes because they were paying to build  for Marcella's.

5.  Tell us DV, how much does Marcella pay in property and school taxes to the city on his OWN PERSONAL residence.

6.  Um, tell us DV, if Marcella is so wonderful, why, in exchange for all the handouts from the taxpayers, does he avoid living IN the city?   Why does he avoid living ANYWHERE IN the county of Schenectady????????

7.   Tell us DV why Marcella lives in Guilderland??????   Can you tell us, DV???????

8.   And you claim he pays taxes, tell us DV, now that Marcella has gotten a brand new building at taxpayer expense, and now that Marcella is exempt from property taxes on his building on Broadway, would you care to tell us why he is NOT paying taxes on his other buildings on Crane St?????????    Well???????    Why won't you answer this one?????

DV, where is your proof of what you say?

I have provided proof that Marcella is a TAX DELINQUENT!!!     Do you have the guts to address that?

Financially struggling homeowners in the city had to pay for a new building for Marcella's

Financially struggling homeowners in the city have to pay the property taxes on Marcella's new building

Financially struggling homeowners in the city have to pay the delinquent taxes on the other buildings Marcella's owns.

Marcella AVOIDS living ANYWHERE IN Schenectady Co.

But you claim Marcella is wonderful and does oh so much.    How 'bout it DV.   How about Marcella pay the property taxes on his Crane St buildings???????   Well?????????

Too chicken to answer because I provided evidence to you that proves you wrong so you won't respond !!!!!

DV, such a fine business, then would you care to address this FACT ???????   No, we know you won't say a word about this because it proves you WRONG.   What "FACTS" do YOU have to dispute this????????    Ah, no answer as usual

Really7    Positive impact????     A massively falling tax base is a positive impact?
Falling home values is a positive impact
Increase in tax BILLS on financially struggling homeowners is a positive impact?
Reduction in essential city services is a positive impact?
Increase in empty houses---via tax foreclosure, abandoned houses, abandoned houses because of being underwater on one's mortgage, burned out houses, and the blight spreading like wildfire in the neighborhoods (where the taxpayers live) is a positive impact?

Tell us what the positive impact is?   Please cite evidence and/or provide photos.

We need more people like the Marcellas and Mallozzis (and the other people that you attack) in our community

We need more tax delinquents in the city and county??????   Is that what you are saying DV?????    We need more tax DELINQUENTS like Marcella's?????    (note, I am NOT talking about pilots which result in paying far less than their fair/full share of taxes).

And Mallozzi, they want NOTHING to do with paying city of Schenectady taxes.  I DEFY you, DV, to tell us what residence they pay taxes on IN the city.

So, Mallozzi who got a new building at taxpayer expense and has a PERMANENT 100% tax exemption and you claim Schenectady needs more people like that???????

DV, grow up and open your eyes!   Look at this house on Prospect St in Schenectady.  Homeowner obviously is really struggling financially, has to put a tarp on their roof.

The owner of that house above is obviously low income, can't afford to repair their house.   Why not?????    Because they are paying a fortune in property taxes to pay for a new building for Mallozzi AND PERMANENTLY pay Mallozzi's property taxes!!!!!

Is that fair that someone so poor should pay the taxes of the super rich Mallozzi family who wouldn't spend their own money for a new building and won't pay taxes?

Now look at the Mallozzi family homes.  Are they poor????    Are they struggling financially?????     Are they too poor to pay the FULL taxes on their bakery property in the city on Broadway???????

The family is so FILTHY RICH they basically own a street.

One house is worth $300,000 and is 3 bedroom, 2 bath and 2,220 sq ft of living space
Another is a house worth $575,000 and is a 5 bdroom, 4.5 bathr4oom house with 5,120 sq ftof living space
Another house is worth $360,000, it's a 2 bedroom, 2 bath house of 2,945 sq ft living space.
Another house is worth $426,000 and is a 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom house with 3,252 sq ft of living space

DV, is it moral, ethical, just and proper that the owner of that house on Prospect St has to pay the taxes of the filthy rich Mallozzi's who live in these palatial lavish mansions (which are NOT even IN the city of Schenectady) ???????
