About three or four months ago, either DOT or the town changed the timing of this light, specifically going northbound. Now, it only stays green for about 13 seconds and only allows 4-6 cars though per cycle... On weekday evenings or Saturday, you'll get a lineup of cars almost to the overpass. You'll also get people choosing the shortest lane at the intersection, regardless of where they are going. This creates lane changing issues and is sure to cause accidents if it hasn't already. It's also complicated by the oak st bridge being out essentially making this route the only way through town for some. i have personally waited FOUR cycles of this light to clear the intersection.

I don't see the need for the change...

Suggestion.  Have camera with you (and preferably with a video camera), film it, and even better if you have a clock on the camera, or just have a stop watch - naturally this is best with a passenger to hold the stuff)

Post the video

Call the town and the state, tell us what their answer is about why it's so short

speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
