Used to go here as a kid. Happy to hear he's not closing up shop, but is just moving:

I was one of his first customers, he cut my hair all through high school. My Dad always went there too. Real great guy, a real outdoors-man too.

I'm an enigma, even to myself.

Racist!

We are advised NOT to judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.   Funny how that works.

Fun story!

How do you accuse an American Indian of racism? Of course that is a sticky wicket for the left! American indigenous tribes were the most racist and ethnocentric peoples that could be found. Their names almost universally translate into "the real people" or the "authentic humans" excepting the Iroquois Mohawk who adopted the Algonquin name given them that meant "MAN EATERS!" Today they leave out that part in explanation and they will say something like the Cayuga were the people of the swamp. They forget that part about "real" or "true." Of course they were all peace-loving worldly philosophers as well, who today have leaders who wish to swear off their history of manly warrior culture and tribal hate and slaughter. I always get a charge out of that. As if those intellects of the left are allowed to re-invent history as the America-haters are apt to do.

However, I always defend the Indians as to what they actually WERE. Proud warrior people who protected their own and did what they had to do to try to survive. Free men and anti-statist all. The idiotic left recreates a myth and that myth is pathetic and pitiful, NOT proud.

However when I meet a leftist Indian intellectual these days I ask them how the Eriegh Cat People are. That shuts them up with their drivel.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

A real character - whenever he cut a kid's hair, he'd say "Go get a cigar". He had an old cigar box with Charms blow pops - he'd tell me to take one even when I was 16/17.

I'd go for a haircut now, but I'm bald, and shave it all off. I hope someone goes to the new shop and lets us know how he's doing.

You are a special kind of stupid, aren't you?

From the article, if you've learned to read:

He does not sugarcoat the fact that he does not accept African-American customers.

"I just tell them I don't cut black hair and they leave," he said. "I've never had a problem. I don't want to scare off my white customers. I guess I'm a racist."He does not cut women's hair, either, for the record.

It's time for every brother in the city to show up and demand to be treated equally!

Actually, not cutting black people's hair is common, since it's not the same texture, or growth pattern. That's why black barbershops are common. It's like suing a Mac computer repairman for not fixing your Windows system.

Then he's discriminating by not LEARNING how to. He's performing a service - much like the baker who got sued for not making a wedding cake for a same sex couple.

poor comparison... There is NO difference in baking the same sex marriage cake...except the two men ( or women) on top...which are plastic and not baked.
Cutting black hair is a separate skill...much the same as working on a vintage car versus a modern one....some shops won't go through the hassle of teaching  their mechanics to repair the vintage ones.

VERY TRUE!!! Different texture and different hair products. Nobody really cares one way or the other.

Forced servitude?  How about you learn how to cut black people's hair and take the business he turns away?

I'm not interested in cutting hair.  If he serves white people, he should serve black people, equally.
