Hello, I have to go to my mom's house in Rotterdam to look after her and my dad is in a nursing home and he did so much. I am getting upset what is with the leaf pick up schedule. Don't the do it the same day every week? My son and I go to mom's house and rake but when they picked up one day one week and we tried to plan raking the day before that day the next week, we found we missed the pick up, there were no holidays. Why don't you have pick up the same day every week like Schenectady so good we always know and we have a printed schedule and changes only with a holiday.

Thank you.

You could mulch the leaves or compost them your selves.  Then you wouldn't have to worry about pick up schedules and would actually be saving the taxpayers' money.  You would also have a healthier lawn next year.

What, save 5 cents on taxes?

Wow, you keep proving your total ignorance of property taxes every time you include the word "tax" in any of your posts.

By the way, have you found even one teeny weeny shred of evidence yet of your statement two years ago?,

October 2011

in 7 short years the Democrats the Democrats have DROPPED TAX RATES TO THE LOWEST POINT SINCE THE 1950's

THOSE ARE THE FACTS

Any response?   NEVER, Total silence.

Of course.  Just like in Schenectady they have to pay twice for trash tax even if they barely put one can out every other week!

To Patches, I and my husband live in Schenectady and we have a schedule, the city prints these on heavier paper and it's a calendar we can refer to every week, no guessing. It's part of our trash collection.

To DemocraticVoiceOfReason. Thank you for your suggestion but my dad tried to do that one year some years ago but far too many leaves, the lawn was covered with broken up leaves after the snow melted and it was a mess. I think they have too many trees in a small area. And he has a mulcher too but it never got as fine as fertilizer might be.

To Mikechristine1. We do not pay twice for trash in Schenectady.

I did learn though that this town comes whenever they get done with other streets, it would just be nice if they stopped when a group of streets were done and then start the next on the next day instead of constantly going.

Oh, we do pay twice for trash in Schenectady. Once, in the budget, twice, in the "fee". That's twice. One, two. When we went to the fee system, the budget should have been reduced accordingly, along with our taxes. Or, our taxes could have been left the same, but another budget item should have had money added to it, such as money to keep up Central Park. That is how budgets work, except in Schenectady. MC know their numbers.

I composted the leaves one year on my lawn, then track small pieces of leaves into the house all winter.
