I would rather have my ambulance squad come to my door and it is not begging......to me the begging was done when that desparate cook had a benefit..

that's begging....no difference...

and 116 calls .?????????......where has that ever been the case in Rotterdam...

see thru the holes.....and jump in.....

REMS is there for it's residents....and doesn't need 30 cars....they do just fine with what they have...

.and prove the 116 calls were made just for Rotterdam.....I'd like to see Gadfly and you BT provide that information.....truthfully.

Well then if God forbid you are in need of emergency assistance, be sure and confirm that the responders are "yours"....that they are from
REMS.....and that they live in Rotterdam......if not then I'm sure you'll turn them away, right?

A one time benefit for someone hardly compares to the perpetual begging from REMS.....begging one administration after another for bailouts
of one kind or another.....begging taxpayers for a tax district......regularly soliciting repeated donations from residents and other private
citizens...while through it all, they claimed to be "self sustaining".

There is a readily and easily accessible record of calls requesting ambulances and/or paramedics....there has always been a high volume of calls
here. The reason it sounds so high to you is because REMS never mentions the number of calls for medical assistance...because they have
dropped so many of them over the years.....while the demonized "for profit" covered those calls....another one of those many convenient
omissions.

No thanks...I don't support what will happen that nite......have heard you speak in another time......rehearse well.....and keep your cool.

wouln't want anything to happen to you......lol...

and BTW   .   peddle is not the word to describe the people that spoke....what is relevant is that they got to speak their minds....such as you will do next meeting........so , be careful .....don't be peddling.....that's for a bike ride...no??????

and I might add....that person was always begging and looking to make money....so be careful what you know....you know squat when it
comes to certain events...REMS happened to have been the start of saving my life.....they were professional and I rode in the
ambulance confident I was in good hands...weeks later I had surgery to save my life....and REMS has done this for many others...
money does not  come before saving a life....and they have saved many..

AND.....I asked that you know so much.....document the 116 calls Mohawk had.....let us know where they went.....city, town, Troy??
The original owner of Mohawk was a great guy...and is probably turning over in his grave that Mohawk's name is touted in such a fashion.

Oh, and why is Mohawk parked at the Mall everyday when I have visited there....where else do they hang out waiting for an emergency..
huh???......people used to criticize lawyers for this......has that been forgotten....now the ambulance is chasing their needs???

and...make sure your speech is recorded.....I want to critique it....make sure you didn't "PEDDLE" same o   same o.....

Have  nice nite.....

The facts require no rehearsal....and pardon my skepticism, but somehow I doubt my safety is among your concerns. Only in Rotterdam
can facts, logic and plain common sense generate such animosity.

What "that person" does is irrelevant in this matter....that individual has not submitted a proposal for the EMS contract at hand.

I'm glad REMS was able to save your life....but any EMT would have done the same, with the same compassion and competence....and
they've all done it many times. It isn't because it's REMS....or their Rotterdam residency....it is simply the nature of that profession.

Doctors, nurses and the like save lives too....sometimes under emergency conditions as well.....and they profit, invest, expand their
services and/or facilities while earning a living....but you let them save your life didn't you?? How is it that ambulance and paramedic
services is the only segment of the medical field that should not operate for profit?

What difference does it make where Mohawk parks in Town as long as they are here....unless they get the contract and buy their own building,
as they plan to do, they have no choice but to park in various places....and no one could know when or where the next emergency will
arise....after all, their coverage was requested, and they have provided it with no obligation to do so.

The truthful facts do not change.....if you don't want to hear the sad truth again then don't listen.

Otherwise I'm sure all of the members of this forum will look forward to your idea of a critique....

Section 3000. Declaration of policy and statement of purpose.

The furnishing of medical assistance in an emergency is a matter of vital concern affecting the public health, safety and welfare. Prehospital emergency medical care, the provision of prompt and effective communication among ambulances and hospitals and safe and effective care transportation of the sick and injured are essential public health services.

It is the purpose of this article to promote the public health, safety and welfare by providing for certification of all advanced life support first response services and ambulance services; the creation of regional emergency medical services councils; and a New York state emergency medical services council to develop minimum training standards for certified first responders, emergency medical technicians and advanced emergency medical technicians and minimum equipment and communication standards for advanced life support first response services and ambulance services.

Section 3000-a. Emergency medical treatment.

1. Except as provided in subdivision six of section six thousand six hundred eleven, subdivision two of section six thousand five hundred twenty-seven, subdivision one of section six thousand nine hundred nine and sections six thousand five hundred forty-seven and six thousand seven hundred thirty-seven of the education law, any person who voluntarily and without expectation of monetary compensation renders first aid or emergency treatment at the scene of an accident or other emergency outside a hospital, doctor's office or any other place having proper and necessary medical equipment, to a person who is unconscious, ill, or injured, shall not be liable for damages for injuries alleged to have been sustained by such person or for damages for the death of such person alleged to have occurred by reason of an act or omission in the rendering of such emergency treatment unless it is established that such injuries were or such death was caused by gross negligence on the part of such person. Nothing in this section shall be deemed or construed to relieve a licensed physician, dentist, nurse, physical therapist or registered physician's assistant from liability for damages for injuries or death caused by an act or omission on the part of such person while rendering professional services in the normal and ordinary course of his or her practice.

2.

i. Any person who, or entity, partnership, corporation, firm or society that, purchases, operates, facilitates implementation or makes available resuscitation equipment that facilitate first aid, an automated external defibrillator or an epinephrine auto-injector device as required by law or local law, or
ii. the emergency health care provider with a collaborative agreement under section three thousand-b of this article with respect to an automated external defibrillator, or
iii. the emergency health care provider with a collaborative agreement under section three thousand-c of this article with respect to use of an epinephrine auto-injector device, shall not be liable for damages arising either from the use of that equipment by a person who voluntarily and without expectation of monetary compensation renders first aid or emergency treatment at the scene of an accident or medical emergency, or from the use of defectively manufactured equipment; provided that this subdivision shall not limit the person's or entity's, partnership's, corporation's, firm's, society's or the emergency health care provider's liability for his, her or its own negligence, gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

Ambulance Fee Schedule
Proposed Rule for Payment under the Ambulance Fee Schedule (AFS)
published 5/26/06 (See AFS Regulations and Notices link.)

Section 4531 (b) (2) of the Balanced Budget Act (BBA) of 1997 added a new section 1834 (l) to the Social Security Act which mandated the implementation of a national fee schedule for ambulance services furnished as a benefit under Medicare Part B. The fee schedule is effective for claims with dates of service on or after April 1, 2002, and it applies to all ambulance services, including volunteer, municipal, private, independent, and institutional providers, i.e., hospitals, critical access hospitals (except when it is the only ambulance service within 35 miles), and skilled nursing facilities.

Section 1834 (l) also requires mandatory assignment for all ambulance services. Ambulance providers and suppliers must accept the Medicare allowed charge as payment in full and not bill or collect from the beneficiary any amount other than any unmet Part B deductible and the Part B coinsurance amounts.

A cover sheet is provided with every year's PUF giving detailed information concerning the amounts payable and any special circumstances pertinent for that year's payments.

National Breakout of Geographic Area Definitions by Zip Code

In response to several requests from the ambulance community for a national breakout of the geographic area definitions (rural, urban, and super rural) by zip code, we have prepared a table (see Downloads section below). Please note that it is arranged by State (using each State's two-letter postal abbreviation), and, within each State, all zip codes are listed. There are two sides to the table – the current geographic area breakout on the left and the geographic area breakout under the Proposed Rule, which was published on May 26, 2006 on the right. The Medicare contractor number and the locality are also included. Please note that, in the far right column for each side of the table, R = Rural, Blank = Urban, and B = Super Rural.  None of the Super Rural areas has changed.  Please search for your State, then zip code within the State, and compare the two sides of the table to determine if your geographic area definition changes under the Proposed Rule discussion.

Sermon? Seems to me it is much more condensed than your numerous ramblings....but as I have said, if it's too much for you to absorb you
don't have to read it....especially if you consider it "offensive and insulting".

If you want to ensure that my comments are recorded then you are the one who should see to that....make yourself known....stand up
and identify yourself while you make comments similar to those on these boards.
