While yard sailing I heard a Rotterdam resident complaining to 'Town Haul' that the yard sale permits went up 150%.  People do not want their taxes raised so raise the fees, the same stupid people who elected these officials will not know the difference.  For that matter, can anyone tell the difference come election day?  Frank Del Gallo was the closest thing in Rotterdam to a man of the people we will ever see.

I understand charging for hauling away yard waste, assuming there have been reductions in DPW staff.  From the gatherings I observe at various eateries in Rotterdam, no layoffs have occurred.

This summer I observed 'summer help' on DPW truck in Colonial Manor.  One kid was working hard, the other texting.  I bet the texter was a connected kid.  Keep the kid working hard & get rid of the texter.  That should neutralize charges for picking up yard waste.  Supervision was not to be observed.

The cable access town haul meetings are a waste.  The mumbling are beyond comprehension.  At least with City Of Schenectady cable you understand what they are saying.  In Rotterdam the board (bored) could pass the death penalty for every other resident & no one would know till they came for you.  No one would complain!

In Rotterdam party affiliation is a myth.  There are those who want jobs in town haul to enhance their egos, make pocket money, pump pension up & secure benefits.  That is the political system in Rotterdam.  At least in other communities the politicians pretend to be different.

The good news in Rotterdam is;  The vast majority of people in & out of government have common, decent values.  The bad news is there are those who seek to profit from the decency of their neighbors.

The only way to hold the line on the cost of government is to reduce the size, merge communities & make government service for elected & appointed officials, less profitable.  Rotterdam will slide down the economic drain unless there is community action of a political nature.  So far too many in Rotterdam are comfortable but that will end soon.  Today Schenectady, tomorrow Rotterdam.

BUMP!

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
