History repeating itself.

Same as it ever was.

Perhaps Valerie wasn't born yet when the 60s happened.

Mini skirts brought the same idiotic response from schools.

All it did was make the kids rebel more.

stop treating them like helpless children and treat them like adults so the might just have a clue when they get out

children do what they do best manipule adults

the administration isn't driving the boat the chidren are - that is very sad

this is a reaction of the administration/teaching staff realizing just who is in control

stop wanting schools to "control" students but instead set examples for students.

go back a few years.....teachers dressed professionally, acted as such, female students wore appropriate clothing. NO JEANS< SLACKS,  nale students

looked like growing adults, and above all....teachers were allowed to dicipline......RESPECT was the key word...

learning was a must ...teachers were not bullies......and the principal was bot afraid to solve a problem....in their office.....

BUS RIDES???  walking was prevalent and necessary in all kinds of weather....

and above all everyone had a faith....

Society and all the freedoms were taken advantage...lst Amendment has been trashed....

and when you graduated you knew how to dress for work...how to act....and above all how to read and write......

Education is great but if there is no common sense thrown in......forget being book smart.

So dressing for school has come a long way......and looking like hoochie mamas, and wannabees is where it is at....

and guess what.....it starts from home.......

when I was in school 'student's rights' were introduced....

a side conversation as an excuse used to hide the inability for a governmental institution to evolve with the times...preferably
keeping kids in 'compartments' of learning

I think it was Lincoln who said "a house divided cannot stand".  That was before he waged a war on the South, suspended habeas corpus, and killed hundreds of thousands of Americans.  He was America's original tyrant.

Lincoln. a moderate Republican allegedly ended slavery.

He made participation in the United States mandatory; thereby  becoming the new owner of everyone.

who said what???

it came out of boston before this country was formed

the outcasts and oppressed who formed this nation used it with purpose

printed in a boston paper in 1768

in 1799 Patrick Henry spoke, “Let us trust God, and our better judgment to set us right hereafter. United we stand, divided we fall. Let us not split into factions which must destroy that union upon which our existence hangs"

it should be used by the like minded to change the direction this nation is headed, it has lost its way

it seems compromise and negotiation skills havn't been taught in many years

as for MTV

sonny and cher
elton john
pink floyd
smoke or fire
two steps from hell

and lets not forget its use one the xbox or playstation
