Broadcast fee proposal returns in Rotterdam
Town Board to decide on annual $5k agreement with public access provider

By John Purcell As of Monday, May 21, 2012 -12:31 p.m.

#ROTTERDAM — A proposal to sign on with Open Stage Media has gained new life in the Town of Rotterdam after it was put on hold during a previous administration.

#The Rotterdam Town Board on Wednesday, May 9, heard a presentation by Proctors CEO Philip Morris requesting the town join Open Stage Media and pay an annual fee of $5,000 toward services provided by the public access television group. Morris approached the previous administration, but discussions never led to the board voting on a resolution for the agreement.

#“We wanted to change the way this works so that the towns participate and the city is not the only player,” Morris said.

#Supervisor Harry Buffardi said Morris had approached him after he was elected. Buffardi said he wanted Morris to present the plan to fellow board members before any decisions were made. The board is set to vote on a resolution to authorize the agreement during its next board meeting on Wednesday, May 23.

#“I am in favor of reaching out to the public to keep them in contact with town government,” Buffardi said. “I personally am in favor of it and will put it on the agenda, but I personally have not spoken to (fellow board members).”

#Buffardi said he knows there are residents not attending meetings who will watch it broadcasted on Open Stage Media. He said it is important to keep residents engaged with government.............................>>>>...................................>>>>.....................http://www.spotlightnews.com/news/2012/may/21/broadcast-fee-proposal-returns-rotterdam/

It will be much easier to turn off Godlewski and the public's mic if the right palms are greased so I expect that this will easily pass 4-1.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Maybe they don't attend because he puts restrictions on them and all kinds of rules, "gimme your papers" (i.e., where you wrote down notes of what you want to say), etc.

Aren't we paying via our cable TV bill?

Morris looking for more money, refuses to pay taxes on his lavish busnesses (plural), and then illegally takes a STAR exmption in the city

For his next trick, anyone who wants to watch a meeting on OSM will be forced to do so on Pay Per View.

government of the media, for the media, by the media

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Rotterdam OKs Open Stage Media contract
Two towns join city in funding public access provider; Glenville support unlikely

By John Purcell As of Friday, June 1, 2012 -2:37 p.m.

#SCHENECTADY COUNTY — Rotterdam leaders are tuning in to Open Stage Media’s proposal for comprehensive public access programming for the county, but one town is still leery of associated costs.

#The Rotterdam Town Board on Wednesday, May 23, approved by a vote of 4-1 a contract with Open Stage Media for this year totaling $5,000 that solidifies OSM as the public access provider for the town. Councilman Robert Godlewski voted against the agreement.

#Godlewski said the town hasn’t completed negotiations with Time Warner Cable for a new franchise agreement, so he urged board members to not support the resolution.

#“Time Warner owes us, we don’t have to do anything,” Godlewski said. “I like Open Stage, I like what they do, it is not the issue. We have to negotiate with Time Warner … approving the town expenditure of funds will weaken our position.”

#Supervisor Harry Buffardi said if the town didn’t approve an agreement with OSM “it would be cut off” and Time Warner isn’t prepared “to do this at this time.”

#Deputy Supervisor Wayne Calder said, “For the sake of open government we need to take this on.”

#Rotterdam joins the Town of Niskayuna in approving a contract, which Proctors CEO Philip Morris paints as towns helping fund operational expenses at OSM. Previously, the City of Schenectady was the only municipality funding the operations.

#“It means that full services can be provided to the citizens of Rotterdam and it gets us closer and closer to having a nearly countywide system,” Morris said..............................>>>>.............................>>>>.....................http://www.schenectadyspotlight.com/news/2012/jun/01/rotterdam-oks-open-stage-media-contract/

That  on/off switch works really well for the Goebels crew at OSM. They have strings surgically implanted in their backs and limbs that go straight up to the capo and are very proud to be controlled to do dirty work for the democrap party

Moris says he would stop broadcasting the meetings. After the millions of taxpayer dollars he holds out for another 5 grand a year (for now) like a Shylock Merchant of Venice.

Sickening that the democraps did this to the taxpayers.
