guess what....there's just that many with false positives too.....and maybe without the artificial hormone/birthcontrol there would be LESS breast cancer...but no one wants to 'prove that'....

although abortion is much more natural....I say...have at it......ribbons/rubber bracelets and crap like that to keep everyone aware of the DISEASE but NOT the social money trail is a
dirty trick on the masses......

NYS has there own program which provides free breast exams and mammograms to female residents. Many OB-GYNs can do the exams as well as many local hospitals.

PP no longer corners the market for women healthcare and if they didn't exist, there are many other clinics and doctors able to do the same.

I can't believe that Komen for the Cure caved. Because all of the rational arguments were on their side.

First...... PP does not perform mammograms, its doctors simply provide breast cancer referrals.  Komen for the Cure figured its money could be better spent on other organizations that provide direct treatment. There is also a link between breast cancer and abortion. In 2009 there was study done by the Cancer Research Center that  showed a statistically significant 40% increased risk of breast cancer for women who have abortions."

Second.... Komen’s stated policy was not to contribute to organizations under investigation. Well PP is under Congressional investigation for allegedly  misusing federal funds. Funds that by law may not be used for abortions. In 2010, PP received $487M dollars from government grants. According to PP's llatest annual report, they performed more than 329,000 abortions in 2010.

Third... it is obvious that this never was about the money. Komen’s grant was a drop in PP's money bucket. Komen for the Cure’s annual grant made up only .058 percent of PP's budget!

So  it appears that Komen is the kind of respectable and mainstream partner that PP desperately needs to continue its charade that it is all about women’s health.'

What happened to Komen is yet another example of the modern left. If anyone disagrees with them, they  seek to intimidate you into silence. Tragically, Komen caved.

We will not be donating to Komen again. We will instead donate directly to the cancer institutes of our choice.

The Komen Foundation’s decision to cease providing grants to Planned Parenthood will soon take its toll on local
communities unless the lost funding is made up. Nowhere is that more true than in Waco, Texas.

For almost 15 years, the Planned Parenthood of Waco, Texas has relied on grants from the local Susan G. Komen for
the Cure affiliate to provide cancer-related care to uninsured women. But Waco is a unique case; the funding is more
than just a boost — it’s actually the sole reason thousands of women receive cancer screenings and care.

In 1998, the first year the Komen Foundation began awarding grants, Planned Parenthood of Waco applied for one to
provide mammograms to uninsured women. With the grant, women could pick up a voucher from Planned Parenthood,
take it to the mammography center, and then have a screening paid for by Planned Parenthood. The Komen Foundation
later suggested that they apply for a second grant, this time for diagnostics, so that women with problematic screenings
could get more testing. In 2007, the state of Texas — the same state which dramatically slashed family funding and
Planned Parenthood funding this year — made them a Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Provider (BCCS).

As part of the national BCCS program, Planned Parenthood became the only clinic in a 12-county
area
that could enroll poor, uninsured women in the Medicaid for Breast and Cervical Cancer program
and get life-saving treatment. To remain a BCCS provider, the clinic has to put up matching funds — $1 for
every $3 of federal money — and the Komen money provided that needed match. They must have an outside
funding source to match the BCCS program.

Agree. We will no longer be donating to the Komen for the Cure (which we have for years) due to their recent flip flop! We will donate directly to the cancer organizations or families of 'our choice'. All of these non-profits/organizations all end up becoming political fodder. This is another example of what happens when the 'government' over steps it's constitutional limits.

We would encourage everyone to donate to their local or national cancer centers/institutions. Take control of your own money and where it goes. This should be a lesson to not give money to organizations where you don't know exactly why and where it is going until it is MILLIONS of dollars too late!

Do you have a link to that study Bumbler?

A 2007 study states that  Breast Cancer Is Not Linked to Abortion.

From the Star Telegram in Texas 3/2010:

"But for uninsured or underinsured women in rural North Texas communities, getting a mammogram can be challenging. Facilities are limited, with only two counties having one facility for breast screening and diagnostic mammography. In Denton County, the number of women who are eligible to be screened but have not had a mammogram in the past two years is estimated to be between 25,171 and 38,724.

Moncrief Cancer Resources plans to decrease or remove the financial and geographic barriers that women in rural counties face by providing mammograms at clinics and through mobile units."

Again, PP DOES NOT DO MAMMOGRAMS and the reason there is a problem in Texas is due to the lack of facilities which have these imaging devices.

PP, just like most doctors offices here in NY, does not DO MAMMOGRAMS.  PP refers women to a mammogram facility...
Just like most doctors offices do  here in NY.

Just like most doctors offices here in NY, a women will receive a breast exam, then PP will refer her to a facility that offers
mammograms, with a PP voucher that will allow a mammogram at low, or no cost.

With out PP these women would have no access to a mammogram.

Obama's government-approved doctors (Mengeles) say that women don't even NEED mammograms that often anyway.

With the grant, women could pick up a voucher from Planned Parenthood, take it to the mammography center, and then have a screening paid for by Planned Parenthood.

The vouchers mean nothing when there are no imaging centers around for mammograms. This is the problem in Texas and PP does NOT HAVE THE FACILITIES TO CONDUCT MAMMOGRAMS. They don't even have a mobile unit to do this! Therefore, there services are limited to breast exams.

Limited services do not require the majority of funding.

PP preformed over 4 million breast exams, and 70,000 mammogram referrals in the last 5 years.

- Most of its services - 71 percent - are for birth control and testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases.
Abortions made up 3 percent of its services in 2010.
Cancer screening accounted for about 15 percent.

That is like saying that Auschwitz produced several million units of various goods which was more than the several hundred thousand persons that were killed there.

“And yet our opponents tell us not to interfere with abortion. They tell us not to impose our morality on those who wish to allow or participate in the taking of the life of infants before birth. Yet no one calls it imposing morality to prohibit the taking of life after a child is born. We’re told about a woman’s right to control her own body. But doesn’t the unborn child have a higher right, and that is to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?” – Ronald Reagan
