right granted from the US Constitution.  Many states had laws outlawing marriage IN THE CHURCH, between
mixed races.  A Church can make up any silly regulation they see fit for their Religion, but the First Amendment to
the US Constitution declares that US Citizens are not held to any Church laws.

marriage has always been EITHER via the government OR the church. people forget they DON'T HAVE TO MARRY IN A CHURCH.
AND they dont have to stay in the state they dont like.

Nice spin box...There is a federal monument of a southern Baptist reverend.  His advocacy was not secular.  His message of civil rights was not only in agreement but derived from his religious beliefs.   Religion in the public square is ok to a liberal as long as that religious figure is accepted by a majority of the Democrat party constituency.  

It is a private business....yes? So Kentucky is giving this private business lucrative taxbreaks just like the METROPLEX does...yes? Don't make this a religious issue......cause if it's a private business....it ain't religious! It's not a non-profit is it? Would it be any different if Six Flags or Disney wanted to build there?

Mosque/Lodge/Union Hall to promote CIVIL RIGHTS LEGISLATION.

EVERYTHING comes from some 'belief'.....being athiest IS a belief and it IS a religious belief.....anything that we look to to guidence could be construed as religion.....but the government should NOT be upholding one religion over another...
and once they break the seal of separation ALL religions become fodder for the podiums.......

Some church and state is ok for the liberal.  If MLK was preaching civil rights for the unborn in the name of Jesus, there would be a bunch of wacky liberals protesting separation of church and state.  You see how their panties get in a bunch when some parents question Planned Parenthood in public schools.  They are instantly labelled right wing Christian zealots.

1.  Sermons?
2.  Baptisms?
3.  Spirituals?
4. Civil Rights accomplishments?

Actually, I have read a number of the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King's sermons -- it is something that I recommend that more people do.   Reverend King did what he did because of his deep faith  in the Gospel message of Jesus Christ .. not because of liberal or a conservative political agenda.  

The Reverend Doctor King was not like some of the Roman Catholic politicians of the past 40 years who believed one thing privately but publicly held another belief.   That is why this profoundly good Baptist minister chose to PUBLICLY take a stand and crusade for Civil Rights.   It is too bad that many of our politicians are Catholic or some other denomination of Christian only in private or in church ---- they need to "grow a pair" and have the courage of their convictions* BOTH in church and in the public arena.

* that is assuming that they actually have any convictions

He was an Evangelical Christian, a Baptist Minister that used his Christian rhetorical preaching style to motivate Americans to action, into pressuring their congressmen/women to pass legislation.  

If the unborn could vote Democrat, you would have every liberal pandering to Christian preachers to try to take credit for passing legislation ending the violent persecution of the unborn.
