SO McCarthy says in the story the city council could refund those fees if it wanted to.
Let's see which of those dem socialist council members who are making Goodspeed pay for the taxes of the millioniares downtown will initiate such an acdtion. ROFLAMO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Goodspeed should also grieve his assessment because he bought his house for less than the city claims it's worth. 2011 Assessment cty claims it's worth $141,500, he bought it for $138,000 and OF COURSE values have plummeted since he closed on that house (and neither DV nor SB will provide any proof to disprove that).
His annual tax bill is whopping $6,000! Ours in town here is just slightly more than half of that for a rather equal house and lot size more than double.
Based on his mortgage amount he is paying just a couple dollars shy of $500 a month on the mortgage + interest. So his taxes are equal to or slightly more than his mortgage! The guy should really, however, refi his mortgage, who in their right mind would do an adjustable rate mortgage now is out of their minds, his rate is 4.125 and could go up in 2018 to about 9% depending on the typical factors that affect ARM's. He could have gotten a fixed rate roughly the same.
Along with the rampant crime, crumbling infrastructure, blight, vacant homes, 60% on welfare, millionaire tax exemptions, a failing school system and high taxes, this is another reason why folks have either walked away from their homes or why folks won't even consider buying in the sh!thole city. It is run by a bunch that wouldn't know how to run a lemonade stand!!!
By the way....there will be another property in the city where someone is going to just walk away!! Talked with someone last week who has been trying to sell their property for a year. No bites. The house is worth less then the mortgaged amount. They can't sell it for what is owed on the mortgage and the taxes are too high. They are presently packing up and getting ready to 'walk away'!! They actually tried lowering the asking price to 'below the mortgaged amount' knowing that they would take a loss....and ZERO!!!

Who loves Schenectady more? Here, the Gazette says that Goodspeed loves Schenectady, but we also have DVOR on here constantly spewing how much HE loves Schenectady. The only difference? Goodspeed actually has the cajones to put his money where his mouth is... or take food OUT of his mouth to pay all the outrageous taxes / fees. DVOR on the other hand just hides in his aunt's basement.
I wonder why DVOR hasn't commented on this yet... It's his beloved Schenectady, isn't it?
The VOTERS have chosen the Democratic team..... nayboobs were SOUNDLY knocked onto their rumps in the previous election.. An issue DOES NOT exist except in the minds of a few NNTP SWINE and the reporter at the Gazette who believes their fairy tales..

The dumbed down, welfare, free food, free housing, drug dealers, sex offenders voted the liberal socialist dems in office. After all....they make up 60% of the populous. This was 'created' specifically for the liberal socialist dems. Cause anyone with a half a brain would vote them out. There just ain't enough of 'em! And that's the way the liberal socialist dems like it!
And the ones with half a brain wouldn't even think of moving into the shIthole! They are too smart to fall for that!!

This is a proven lie, unless you think that SOUNDLY knocking someone out means needing the votes counted for a few weeks/months. I mean unless they wanted to see how much of a blowout it would have been. Oh, and things are going wonderfully for the Democrat party, considering one of them was cast out on their Keester due to the win of Vince Riggi. Yeah. Things are WONDERFUL, just ask DVOR and his followers here (well, you should know, you ARE one of them...).
"Schenectady wants homeowners, but isn't very homeowner-friendly. When I moved there, I was told a homeowner couldn't get a building permit if they were doing the work themselves unless they had lived there for 6 mos. Now they have a practice of not sending property tax bills but then hitting you with late fees. And how many municipalities bill quarterly? I'm glad to have left."
I was not aware she sold her home in Mont Pleasant. She is a college educated professional who bought a home in Mont Pleasant about 5 years ago, with high hopes as I remember.

I asked and you answered – and I will be blogging about what you suggested. I’m looking forward to talking about why young people leave the area after college, and even though it’s not really “in season,” the Disc Golf Course will be a fun topic.
I will also talk about Occupy Schenectady – though I suspect the occupiers might not like what I have to say. Guess we’ll see.
But first, I want to talk about something near and dear to the hearts of all Schenectadians – property taxes. I saw this story over on The Advocate, and couldn’t help but think – huh, that sounds familiar.
I have a mortgage on my house, and I pay into an escrow account, and my lender pays my city taxes each quarter. In theory.
This is the second lender I’ve dealt with on this house. I was with the first lender for 5+ years – never a hiccup.
When I got divorced, I bought the house and refinanced through a new lender. All was good, for the first few months.
Then I got a nasty-gram from the City Department of Taxation (or whoever) telling me I was past due on my taxes. I contacted my lender who promptly told me that I should have forwarded the bills to them.
No, I said. As long as I’ve lived here, I’ve never seen these bills. They go to you, not to me. You didn’t pay the bill.
A little “research” confirmed that I was correct, and my lender paid the bill from my escrow account, and they took care of the fines. I thought we were all square – until I got another notice from the city about six months later.........................>>>>>......................>>>>........................http://blog.timesunion.com/schenectady/taxing-the-taxpayer/2861/
