Checking the first 3 counties, they are overwhelmingly Democrat and voted overwhelmingly for Obama. I mean like 80%+.

Look at REPUBLICAN Texas Congressman Ron Paul, for example...
After Hurricane Ike destroyed much of Texas in 2008, Paul voted against a bill that would help Texans rebuild from the storm... much of the aid was aimed at his congressional district. If it were up to Paul, they'd still be digging out from that storm. Federal aid helped his district in spite of Paul's vote against it, to rebuild businesses, infrastructure and local government.

Don't be mislead - these are large geographical counties with sparse population that fall almost all in Indian Reservations or are made up of Mexican immigrants. Both parties are being sold a bill of goods by Boxes type that they need to be FROG: Fully Reliant on Government. Sadly they will always be poor because to teach them self-sufficiency would now bee deemed "racist" by the prevail Big Gov' elitists that control all thought.
How is all that government assistance working for these folks?
The top TEN COUNTIES highest in poverty are on Rezes or have the highest percentage of non-English being spoken in the home? Even in Apache County which is at the "4 corners" half the folks speak NAVAJO AT HOME! Oh gee, the government has taken good care of them. They all have public housing or they live in a trailer and are sequestered there by the government believing their meager needs will continue to be met by the agents and the social workers.

I looked at the list again, and without any reaserch into this, I am willing to concede that TWO of the TWENTY FIVE you listed are white, hillbilly red neck republican voting counties in Ken-Tuck.
The other 23 are predominantly Rez, Mexican or sadly poor itinerant black people. All three groups need a hand UP not a hand OUT.
California has a huge illegal immigrant problem especially in many of it's southern counties... but they are not on the list. In parts of Florida, a swing state, it's difficult to find anyone who speaks English... yet they aren't on the list. The only county in Florida that IS on the top 100 list is along the state's northern border with Georgia... and is 60% white, with only 6% Hispanic.

So, unless you have something actually to show that my post was not accurate... you admit that the poorest counties in the USA are in Red Republican states.
There is a reason that these counties are so poor. The Republican leadership at the state level consider those citizens expendable. They will spend the minimum possible on these, the poorest of their state.
I find this the most interesting coincidence that Almost Every Poor County In the Top 100 Poorest List are from Red Republican States. (but it MUST be just a coincidence)
