~ "Buffett Calls Republicans' Bluff" ~ Warren Buffett tells Time he is ready to call Republicans' tax bluff. Last fall, Sen. Mitch McConnell said that if Buffett was feeling "guilty" about paying too little in taxes, he should "send in a check."
So, he is willing to take them up on it and has pledged to match one for one all such voluntary contributions made by Republican members of Congress.
Said Buffett: "And, I'll even go three for one for McConnell."
In saying that McConnell should "put up or shut up," you'd be saying that McConnell thinks he's not paying enough taxes, when in fact, it was Buffett who said he wasn't paying enough. McConnell simply gave him an answer. He can give away as much as he wishes. Why does he need to be prodded by others to do the same?

Buffet, one of the richest men in the world, stated the fact that he pays less than any one working in his office... Buffet pays 17%, his office staff pays as much as 30%.
The tax system is slanted in favor of the richest Americans, and puts the working men and women of this country paying a higher rate... in effect... they are paying their taxes, plus Buffets tax as well.
If you think that this system is fair... then do nothing. Pay your taxes, plus add some more to make up for the rich underpaying their tax.
Buffet (and McConnell) are paying less than their fair share and Buffet wants the system changed to reflect this unfair practice. This issue isn't about Warren paying more... it's about all Americans paying their fair share.

If Buffets aim was a charity marathon for the IRS, then a donation would be fine. Buffet, who knows a thing about making money, paying taxes and rich people, is trying to make the system more fair to the average American. Rampage, do you really enjoy paying MORE so that the rich can pay LESS? Most Americans don't mind paying their fair share of taxes... but under the present system, the middle class pays for the poor, because they have no income, and they pay for the rich, who pay the lowest rate in tax.
Go ahead and DONATE if that is your aim, but Buffett and most other Americans would prefer a equitable tax system... not IRS charity.

A concerned citizen trying to right a wrong... OK. YUP. Time to bust his balls. Just go on paying for his low tax rate with your dollars. I'd prefer a fairer tax system.

I'm for a fairer tax system... and I also say Buffett is a fraud. He brought an issue that he sees PERSONALLY. He was given a solution to it ...PERSONALLY. He failed to act on it. If that's busting his balls, so be it.
