It seems "Ronnie Got Run Over By A Reindeer" was a smash on the charts here in Virtual Rotterdam. So big in fact that I received many musical suggestions. Here's one penned by our own Graham Bonnet and performed by Alias and His Virtual Bluegrass Boys a little thing we like to call "The Ballad Of Ron Severe". We hope you enjoy it, and we've supplied the words so that you can sing along. And yes a video will be coming in the near future. Enjoy....
The Ballad Of Ron Severe Words by: Graham Bonnet (w/apologies to Paul Henning) Performed by: Alias and His Virtual Bluegrass Boys
Listen to a story about a clown named Ron An unaccomplished fool, who tried to spin a con Then one day he was sittin’ like a hog And up on the screen pops the Rotterdam Blog
Lies to tell, Real bull, Dumb stuff
The first thing you know ol Ron's a democrat His aunties had a free smelly basement flat Said Rotterdam is the place you ought to be So he loaded up his toys and moved in with Aunt Ginny
Parks committee, No property tax, Free food
Next thing you know Ron's tellin all his lies known to be used as one of TJ Hooker's spies He gets on the ballot and he's passin’ lots of gas When them votes got a tallied no surprise he finished last
Dead last, Loserville, Bottom of the ticket
Became an a-one troll by typing on his screen Bragged about the sights and the places that he'd seen Tried to be a food critic and told us where to eat But the restaurants he pushed were on the Metroplex teet
Bad food, poor service, dictatorship approved
And now it’s time to say good-bye to Ron and all his kind If we liked his company we'd be out of our minds We hope he’ll be a leavin’ soon our locality So pack up all your lies and your lousy per-ro-gies
Don't come back now - ya hear? Get one of them condos Down by the river- pay some taxes- Stop sponging on Auntie.
