Although for years I've heard that Upstaters Taxpayers pay the bills for downstate and especially for New York City... the reality is just the opposite! NYC Supports Upstate with their Tax Dollars!
"The Capital Region (the Albany area) and the rest of the state, get significantly more than they give."
That is true Box but NYC also has a huge amount of expense for Medicaid, infrastructure maintenance, welfare, and crime control. The city spends the most money but they also bring in the most money.

"The upstate region provides 24 percent of the revenues and receives 35 percent of expenditures." Upstate receives 11% more in benefit dollars than we pay in taxes. (NYC area pays our extra 11%)
Down state Pays more in taxes than they receive in benefits.
Consider: ~ If New York were its own country, its army, the New York City Police Department, would be the twentieth-best-funded army in the world, just behind Greece and just ahead of North Korea. ~ Its GDP, $413.9 billion, would be the seventeenth largest in the world, just behind the Russian Federation and just ahead of Switzerland. ~ With more than 8 million residents, it would be more populous than Ireland, Switzerland, or New Zealand; roughly half the countries in the Middle East (including Israel); most of the former republics of the Soviet Union; and all the Scandinavian countries besides Sweden.
Upstate needs NYC much more than NYC needs Upstate.

As long as the world trades on the dollar that will be true. Once America loses world reserve currency status, that will change. NYC produces nothing, they benefit from Federal Reserve dollars.
A newspaper is a device for making the ignorant more ignorant and the crazy crazier. ~ H.L. Barack Obama was a cult following. He move people with empty rhetoric of hope and change, and the idiots followed. Paul actually has a plan and philosophy.

His plan... legalize drugs, let the druggies out of jail to rape and kill, Abolish abortion for all the young girls that are raped by the Ron Paul criminals on the streets, eliminate any gun laws, allow unrestricted lobbying, and watch Paul cash in on his " Gold Investments".
