I am anxiously waiting to hear if Mallozzi's is going to have a Swedish Christmas Smorgasbord
this year -- Last year it was wonderful and the food was divine..   They are a Godsend to our town and it speaks to their inclusive attitude that they can offer and have offered a Scandinavian style buffet.

I highly encourage them to do it again.

Actually, I have the flyer showing their CHRISTMAS EVE BUFFET 2011, showing a SALAD STATION, SOUP SELECTION, BUFFET ITEMS, CARVING STATION, and VILLA ITALIA DESSERTS...so doesn't appear there is a Smorgasbord

I posted this because I have Scandinavian heritage and loved the fact that they ran such a tremendous buffet last Christmas -- while offering the delicious delicacies that my ancestors enjoyed..  It was NOT intended to be a political issue.   I think the food at Mallozzi's is much better than any other similar establishment in the area.   They are also extremely helpful and caring people and run some of the nicest eateries and hospitality establishment in the State of New York.

I think that they are neck and neck with Dolce Vita as far as Italian dining but their wonder Swedish fare is to die for as well.

What about Petta's? Three horrible venues that should be avoided at all costs.

You can't be serious....DV can't hold a candle to the variety, quantity and quality of food provided by Mallozzi's and the price of their buffet...start a poll of people on the forum and see what kind of response you get.

Mallozzi's is for banquets and they have the buffet on certain evenings.  Our family has entertained at Mallozzi's and it is exceptional for a banquet or a large function.

Dolce Vita is a restaurant with a FULL MENU and is open as such throughout the week ---- and as much as I like Mallozzi's .. it is a lot more economical to take the family and friends to Dolce Vita.    Proof of that ---  Tuesday nights at Dolce Vita is  buy 1 get 1 (of equal or lesser value free)  and Dolce Vita has special prices on other nights (one night being specials on Eggplant Parm and Veal Parm and Chicken Parm).

The other place that offers a great buffet is  The Tree Farm at Settle's Hill in Princetown --- my family loves their Sunday Brunch.

OH -- and last year Mallozzi's Swedish Smorgasbord was NOT on Christmas Eve --- it was on another Sunday afternoon earlier in December.  I don't know if they are going to offer it again this year.

Left disapointed.

Maybe Mallozzi's will do a different theme for a buffet this year --- I suggest a Moroccan theme.

This is becoming as stale as last year's fruitcake. A good rule of thumb avoid any of DVR/SB/SG recommendations like a plague.

A Moroccan or North African theme would be quite good --- and the food from this area is very healthy as well as out of this world delicious.   You can see how North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean/Middle East cuisines greatly inspired European cuisine --  next to authentic Asian cuisine ... my favorite cuisine is from North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean/Middle East.
